Always a great experience. From the moment I walk in the door everyone is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Dr. Ferguson takes time to listen, and provides thoughtful care and treatment plan. Highly recommend.

As someone on the taller side, I consider good chiropractic work a non‑negotiable part of staying functional. Over the years, I’ve had chiropractors who were fantastic… and a few who made me wonder if I should just live with the back pain and take up competitive limping instead.
Right now, I see Dr. Chapp, and saying the experience is “beneficial” feels like calling the Grand Canyon a “nice little ditch.” It’s genuinely great care paired with an atmosphere that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in.
The staff? Incredibly friendly. Honestly, I’m convinced this must be a great place to work because everyone is in a good mood every single time. I’ve never walked in and thought, “Uh oh, someone’s having a day.” Not once. They’re always excited to see me — and trust me, I’m a very average Joe. If they treat me like a VIP, you’re going to feel like royalty.
Pricing? Extremely reasonable for the level of care you get. Definitely easier on the wallet than physical therapy or a doctor’s office visit, and the results speak for themselves.
Dr. Chapp is easy to talk to, genuinely listens, and respects my input about my own care. He explains things clearly, answers every question, and never makes me feel rushed. It’s the kind of interaction where you walk out thinking, “Wow, that was actually helpful.”
And here’s the kicker: this practice is on the complete opposite side of town for me — a solid 30‑minute drive. I literally switched my cat’s vet to avoid a commute, but I would never switch chiropractors. That should tell you everything.
If you’re considering this practice, go. You won’t be disappointed. I’d stake my own job on it — and I like my job, so that’s saying something.

It was 20 years ago that I had a spinal cord tumor removed 2 mm from my brain stem. The surgery involved removing partial vertebrae & cutting through the spinal cord from C1 through C6 then replacing with titanium plates and screws. Last year I had a reverse total shoulder replacement. Also, I have suffered for years with SI joint pain and dysfunction.
After visiting with a friend, who was a patient of Dr. Akerson, she highly recommended that I go see him specifically for my SI joint issues. She told me that he greatly helped her and felt he could help me. She was right!
From the moment I walked in the door and was greeted by Lindsey, to setting baselines with Dr. Akerson, I went home feeling that I was in the right place for chiropractic care. It’s only been two weeks, but I already feel so much better.
I’m learning so much about how our spine controls everything in our bodies. Dr. Akerson provides home exercises, discusses research studies, and nutrition. You must use the tools given and put in the time at home to not only feel better but for overall performance.
After my first treatment, Dr. Akerson personally called me a few hours later to see how I was feeling, and if I had any questions. He is so passionate about what he does and compassionate towards his patients. I am so glad to be at Excel Chiropractic & Wellness.

There I was; King's Arrow Ranch..Gulf Wars 30 in the heat and sun and sweat of the Medieval Mississippi Sun fighting for my life amongst a packed shield wall of swords and spears. I was beaten, I did bludgeon, and I marched hard up and down the hill from our allied resurection point for a good long hour before finally falling to a spear that had displaced part of my ribcage.
Pads, leather, plate steel, and rattan. Many fights over many years in a duty and service and dedication to our Kingdom and its Dream. But..that can leave a fighter broken and unable to engage in the beloved fray. And that? My friends that can leave a man depressed, isolated from his swordkin....unable to sleep at night for all the pain and discomfort that remains outside of the training field. And then? A man may decay...his body may begin to with...or may his sanity..
I was ready to see the surgeon. I was ready to be put through the knife to end this suffering and have even a hope to regain my hobbies, speaking not of my work, or my life...my family...
I had had a sucessful experience one time, years ago on the side of one of those LARPing fields. That man who did the thing had been, in years prior, a head doctor at St. Louis RMC. He cautioned afterwards on mispractice by some chiropractors, but was overall quite attentive and explained that the chiropractic medical field was indeed sound and modern science...not just some collection of outdated medieval methods.
For a long time thereafter I slowly drifted back in to levels of pain and discomfort....it worsened until my condition was as ive previously described unembellished. I was close to losing my job, couldn't participate in any sort of even moderate activity..couldn't play with my kid....couldn't cuddle my wife asleep in bed at night.
My primary physician recommended Dr. Jake Ackerson with Excel Chiropractic and Wellness. She said bluntly that if Dr. Ackerson was unable to resolve my issues, then there would be no other consultant she would suggest before a surgical intervention. His own story of personal recovery through adjustment is inspirational, and she had confidence that I would be able to seek positive treatment with Jake.
Within the first three weeks of consistent treatment, Dr. Ackerson was able to sucessfully analyze my horribly explained complaints. He then put together a treatment approach that was not only meaningfully tailored to my specific issues, but also reasonable and accomplishable. Having a recovery plan that is actually achievable is extremely important, and it was easy to follow through with the recommendations provided.
And compared to the medieval doctor? ..That guy may have been high up in a big hospital, but that compares in no way to the expertise that ive witnessed each time at Excel. Dedication to excellence and professionalism are not lost on me. The education and on-going adaptations to treatment that I continue to receive as I heal and begin living life again are basic and necessary fundaments that I was missing in life. They've taught me HOW to heal, not just done some alignments and sent me out the door with some expensive 'routine plan'. Each time I am there I feel personally welcomed, understood, and actually treated when I am needing that desperate relief the most.
Don't think id have lasted much longer without you guys. Thank you.
