  I have donated at this center many times and have had mostly positive experiences, but an assistant manager’s actions today has been so upsetting that I feel compelled to leave this review. There is one particular staff member who has made me feel like I am less than a person more than once. I’ve experienced her treatment to other donors in this manner as well. I addressed it with her directly, face-to-face. I was respectful and simply explained how her interactions with me made me feel. I was not looking for an argument or special treatment. I simply expected to be treated with basic dignity and respect. What happened next was honestly one of the strangest management interactions I have ever experienced which is what prompted my review. An assistant manager, who really didn’t have to be involved, immediately came up to me before I left and defended the employee. I wasn’t reaching out to speak to him at all. I think there is an important point that management needs to understand: the fact that donors receive compensation does not give staff permission to treat those donors however they want. We are still people. We are still customers, and we are voluntarily giving our time, our plasma, and going through a process that isn’t always comfortable. Being compensated for a donation does not mean we should have to tolerate being spoken to or treated in a way that makes us feel humiliated, dismissed, or less than human. I wasn’t asking for special treatment. I was asking for basic respect. Sometimes the appropriate response from a manager is simply, “I’m sorry you felt that way. I understand your concern, and we’ll address it.” Instead, I felt like I was being made to defend myself for having a legitimate concern. Management should understand that defending an employee at all costs is not the same thing as handling a customer complaint professionally. You can support your staff while still acknowledging when a donor has been made to feel uncomfortable or disrespected. I left the interaction feeling even worse than when I walked in. I hope management takes this seriously, because compensation does not make someone’s dignity worth less. Every donor deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect.

  It sucks how you are the only Location in Lincoln and you are closed on a Saturday making me miss out on making $150 but its whatever i guess, i mean everything else is fine besides the fact that almost every single time i have gone in in the last couple days it takes forever for me to get hooked up to a needle despite the fact the there are like two or three people standing around everything else after that runs smoothly without a compliant.

  I have been going now for 2 years thanks to my bestie for getting me started. Some days are slow but if you have patience they will get to you as fast as they can!

  The staff develop relationships with donors and I have learned that when you are kind and considerate they are kind and considerate 🙌

  Overall, this is a great place to be. The employees are generally friendly, welcoming, and very positive. However, I have had a few uncomfortable interactions with one employee, Savannah. In my experience, she has come across as somewhat passive-aggressive and has occasionally displayed an attitude toward me. I’ve noticed that she seems kind and pleasant with others, so I’m not sure what may be causing the difference in how I’m treated. Because of my experiences, I prefer to be assisted by another employee when possible. I hope this feedback can be taken constructively.
