  So I scheduled a yearly physical about a month ago. I was called today and was told, about my physical, Coastal did NOT accept my insurance (BCBS) which is understandable BUT wy not tell me this last month? So I loose a day of work, becuase of, "we only check your insurance the day before the physical". Furthermore, the staff person begins to tell explain their resoning for checking the "day before" is becuase many clients cancel insruance and it seemed to her "unnecessary" to check on what insurance Cosatal will/will not accept until plans have been made. Seems to me when you book the appointment they should tell you if your insurance will be accepted BUT, the would make TOO much sense and perhaps Costal employees are not capable of such.

  Staff is up-to-date on new medicines, self-help techniques and very thorough with their exams. They have been my doctors for 15 years and continue to guide me through some tricky health issues and back to good health.

  The doctors and nurses here are friendly and the wait times are short. The office is clean and never overcrowded. The front staff could be friendlier though! They don't address you when you come in and I found them to be rude over the phone as well.

  I am never the type of person to complain. But I have never been treated so poorly by a front desk/registration/customer service person as I was at this office. I came in this morning with a broken leg, to be referred to a surgeon, the front desk help was rude and cold. I was there on my own with just crutches. My broken leg is wrapped in a soft cast from the ER so as you can imagine, every bit of movement causes the bones to shift and grind against each other within my leg. She was very impatient, she called me to her desk 3 separate times and never once assisted or asked if she could assist me from my chair to her desk or back. She also rolled her eyes at me, probably because she was irritated with having to work and train the person she was training while "assisting" me. Other sick people in the office waiting area noticed and helped me with opening the door and carrying my clipboard of paperwork back to the front. It was quite embarrassing and painful.
