  I just removed an unfavorable review of this company. I hope the review did not affect their reputation. Am writing to clear up what happened. I wrote the review in response to a home health aide that left us and was exposed to Covid and didn’t mention it. The last time my other half got Covid she was in the hospital for 6 days with 4 of them in a coma. So I became very angry and wrote a poor review about Home Instead which shouldn’t have happened. They are a good home health care company. So am writing here to apologize to them and their staff. In the future my other half will handle all communication and scheduling with the home health care agency. So if you are reading this consider this company for your loved ones. They do a good job and I was unjustified in being overly aggressive and should have controlled myself. Thanks again Home Instead for all you have done for us the past year and a half. Tom G.

  I highly recommend Home Instead Monroe. My sister with Alzheimer's Disease was in an assisted living facility in Albemarle. She would often get frustrated because she wanted to go outside more than what the facility could accommodate, as she needed constant supervision. I contacted Home Instead, who was able to provide companion care. Stephanie would visit my sister several days a week and take her out for lunch, take her shopping, or just take her outside so that my sister could work in the garden. My sister was extremely happy, as it gave her back some of her independence. When it was time to move my sister to another location, Stephanie help my sister pack up almost all of my sister's things, so I had very little to do other than load it up. I was very pleased that Home Instead was able to provide this service for someone in assisted living and will definitely use their services again, if the need arises.

  I'm not sure where to begin sharing my amazing experience with Home Instead of Monroe, NC. From the moment my Mother arrived to live with us in Weddington, Home Instead provided the most incredible health care workers to care for my Mom. We were blessed to no end to have Tiney, Jackie and Debbie. Our health care team was smart, responsive, caring, well trained and able to take on tasks independently; so I could get the rest I needed to take over when their shifts ended. It was incredibly rare for our staff to take time off but, when that was necessary, we were offered substitute staff. My Mom was blind, had significant heart issues and needed constant physical support. Our team was so careful, yet strong! I never had to worry that they could care for my Mom. I learned how to allow them to take over and not "supervise" everything. I was able to let go and let them do their jobs. It wasn't easy! The most amazing part was - they knew I had trouble letting go and they tolerated me hovering .....I finally knew they "had this" and I began to rest - I certainly needed it. I would often hear them with Mom, talking to her - making her laugh or Mom making them laugh. I heard Mom give them a hard time and them responding with love, care and motivation. I heard them listen to her cry and it warmed my heart how they would console her. I heard her get angry with the world - and I heard them pray with her and give her some peace so she could calm down. I remember them leaving at the end of their shifts, knowing I would have a very long night ahead of me....usually sleepless...until they returned the next day. I remember them offering me hugs and words of comfort. I remember....and I'll never forget!! Mom passed on May 25, 2020 - so this is raw and I'm not giving all the kudos I need to give to our team. She - and we - loved each team member - they became like family to us. I never experienced trust issues - I never worried about the team being in our home. So, if you're searching for the right company to care for your Loved one - give this agency a chance. If I have to go through this again...which I pray I don't....I would call Home Instead of Monroe in a heartbeat. Love and peace to you all!! I know how much you need it if you're reading this review.
