I’m done being silent about this place. First of all, I only ever went here because of the convenience of the location and because I needed the money. Almost every time I successfully donated plasma, I left feeling lightheaded for the rest of the day and had significant pain in my arm afterward. I never even bothered bringing it up because it was obvious this place cared more about checking boxes than actually caring about the people donating. I have a high pain tolerance, so I just kept pushing through it. Second, this place has some of the most cold and out-of-touch staff I’ve dealt with. After multiple phone calls with them over time, it became very clear they expect people struggling through day-to-day life to remember every donor number, every tiny rule, and every piece of fine print 24/7 like it’s some 40-page handbook everybody has memorized. My initial one-year ban from KEDPLASMA was already ridiculous in my opinion. I was banned after going to the mental hospital during a rough point in my life — which is ironic considering the financial situations that push many people into plasma donation in the first place. There’s apparently no appeal process and no room for human judgment whatsoever. Then today (5/20), I spoke with someone in medical named Dave about a new ban because of a tattoo I got last week. I explained my situation honestly: I was counting on this income to help keep a roof over my head, and I genuinely didn’t know the tattoo would extend my ban. The shop was licensed, clean, used sterile needles, and had excellent reviews and safety standards. Instead of showing even a little understanding, Dave immediately hid behind “federal guidelines” and acted like I was asking him to commit some massive crime by simply asking for basic humanity and common sense. The attitude honestly came off like a wannabe high school principal talking down to somebody instead of an actual human conversation. What makes this even more frustrating is the inconsistency. During my time donating there before my first ban, it was obvious some people were coming in under the influence or clearly struggling with addiction, yet nobody wanted to address the obvious because those people kept the money flowing. But me — somebody who was actually honest and transparent with staff about my mental health history and tattoo — gets completely shut out with zero flexibility or compassion. That’s the part that bothers me most. Honesty feels punished here more than anything else. At the end of the day, I understand rules exist. But when a business markets plasma donation as financial help for struggling working-class people, there should at least be some level of humanity involved in how people are treated. Instead, this place feels completely robotic, corporate, and indifferent to real-life situations. If you’re considering donating plasma in the area, I’d honestly recommend looking elsewhere or finding another way to make extra money if possible. I’ve had far better experiences outside of this location, including places that actually treated me like a human being instead of a liability. I put a lot of thought into writing this after many negative experiences over time. I hope this review raises questions not just about this establishment, but also about the broader policies and business model surrounding plasma donation in general.
