  I had a endoscopy today. My results were not good, but a nurse named Kendra helped me so much. She was so kind and taught me so much about Cirrhosis. I really appreciate her kindness and taking so much time teaching me about what would help.

  Overall the experience was very good. I was very anxious to have an endoscopy done but the nurses and doctors were all so kind and put me at ease. A week after my endoscopy I learned a North Carolina manufacturer of IV fluids had issued a recall over contamination in some of the bags they had sold. I figured that since everything went so well during the procedure and I was still doing well that it was unlikely I could have received a bag of saline affected by the recall. But I had a follow up appointment coming up, and decided I would ask if it was possible a bag used on me could have been a part of the recall. I was disappointed because the P.A. working with me seemed dismissive and just repeated “everything we use is up to date”. Which is confusing because, yes, if a contaminated bag had been used on the day of my procedure, it would have been considered “up to date” because the recall had not yet been announced. This was very disappointing because I still feel unsure if I could have received a contaminated bag. I don’t feel like I can call because with the repetitive nature of her response, it felt very dismissive and defensive as if I was accusing the office of using “out of date” products. Overall I would still recommend this office.
