I recently broke my glasses and went to LensCrafters to get them replaced. With insurance, the whole process was quick and easy — I paid my $50 and was told my new glasses would be ready soon.
What’s strange is they said once I get the text that my glasses are in, I’m not supposed to just come in and pick them up. I have to call the store first to make sure someone is actually there who can give them to me.
Here’s the thing: I’m currently halfway blind waiting for these glasses. When the text finally comes, I’m supposed to somehow call them first, then make my way to the store — all while barely being able to see. It just feels like a really weird and inconvenient policy.

5 Stars for our salesperson Taylor P. She answered all of our questions and is a very professional person to have on your staff. I am looking forward to picking up my new glasses in a couple of weeks. However, the Mgr was not helpful. She requires her knowledgeable salesperson to show her every order before processing. This Manager was so bad at this, having my wife to repeatedly choose other glasses because of pay for add-ons she said are required. The Mgr would review and deny repeatedly. For over 20 years no Optometrist or Lensware company have ever been this micro-managing. 0 stars for bad client service and keeping us there almost 2 hours for the Manager. My wife opted out, completely turned off by this Manager’s behavior. I had to get glasses because mine were too fragile. If this stores revenues are stagnant, this may be the reason why. When my wife asked the Manager very politely why the constant review and denials……the Manager said everybody is different. We found that to be a weird answer and it made us uncomfortable. Will we return, nope. Just to pick up the glasses.

Absolutely horrible customer service and attention to detail. LensCrafters was flawless in Cincinnati, Ohio and employment moved me to North Carolina. The Concord Mills LensCrafters branch is pathetic. I purchased two pairs of glasses and had to take back the glasses four times. The prescription was wrong, they made my readers into sunglasses, and the list goes on. I finally took my glasses to the Concord Mall location and they were flawless like Cincinnati. Nice, polite, professional, and easy to work with. The assistant manager at the Concord Mills location harassed me because I wrote them a bad review. He kept telling me North Carolina is not Cincinnati in a smart tone. He is a complete brick.

Last review was deleted so reposting: Dr Daniel was great. Highly recommend him, but this was my worst experience at a LensCrafters or any eye place…
The policy mentioned retinal imaging vs getting your eyes dilated, so I planned to choose to get my eyes dilated. I’ve always gotten my eyes dilated, even at LensCrafters as I have light sensitivity. I mentioned I wanted to opt out and get my eyes dilated as usual and the lady said that wasn’t an option unless deemed “medically necessary”. (Just learned Light sensitivity is a medically necessary reason to get eyes dilated and she misled me) She also said they didn’t operate the same as other Lens Crafters….She also didn’t explain the retinal imaging process at all, so when I suddenly had the bright green flashing across my eyes, my stomach immediately dropped. I was on the verge of throwing up before seeing the Dr, but the lady did not care at all…The receptionist was really sweet and got me an alcohol pad to smell, to help prevent me from throwing up. I didn’t catch her name, but thank you.🫶
I was really nauseous throughout my visit with Dr. Daniel, but he was GREAT and took time to really explain things so I could learn more about my eyes. Thank you.
It’s been a couple hours since my appointment and I still feel really sick from the retinal imaging. I’d rather have my eyes dilated and just wear sunglasses as usual. I asked the lady if they could possibly mention clearly that dilation isn’t an option on the phone when people make appointments, and she quickly dismissed me saying it was in the vague policy I signed… I was really nauseous at this point and she couldn’t care less. I won’t be coming to this location after picking up my glasses since I need dilation and neither I nor my husband liked our exams with her.
If you don’t have light sensitivity, then this place should be fine and you’ll really like the doctor. 👍

this location deserve 0 stars. wasted 2 hours picking up both of our glasses, only for both pairs of glasses to be remade due to a lot of their mistakes, like putting someone else’s prescription in my frame. And a fish bowl view on the other. Then when we got our glasses. No apology at all. No cases, spray, or cloth. Just a weird attitude, and the screws in the frame were over torqued. - so I almost cut my finger at home. We are returning them to a different location. So tired of this store. Never returning
However, Taylor is GREAT. She was very knowledgeable and caught many errors other workers made. For example, they put my husband’s prescription in MY frame and put his prescription in a regular frame that he was previously told could be his safety glasses(but it could not). He could not see out of the glasses properly and Taylor caught the issue and helped us choose a proper pair safety glasses. Thank you Taylor. You were the only one who actually seemed to care about someone’s vision in that store. As someone who works in customer service and the public, this store needs a whole rework.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
