  We hired Home Instead for home health aide following my mother-in-laws mastectomy. We have been using them for one week and are scheduled for next week as well. First, they are reasonably price for home health aide :) ! From the first phone call, to meeting the staff that helped mom, EVERYONE has not only been professional, but absolutely friendly and delightful, so easy to talk to, eager to help in any manner, give consistent care, always smiling and positive, and just all around good people!! Never once did I feel uncomfortable or have doubts after meeting the staff. Sabra came with Dawn on her first day, which I thought was awesome. It showed me that they were a team and very supportive of each other! I showed them around the house, let them know the goals for the day, and light house keeping duties that could be performed. Dawn has been a dream! She radiates helpfulness and joy! When she helped mom with her shower, I think she got more wet than mom! Lol! But mom was super comfortable and felt very safe with Dawns help transferring in and out of the shower, and helping wash what she couldn’t reach. Much love and care was taken with the way she has been with mom. Alma came on Wednesday. Sabra came with her to get acclimated on her first day as well. Alma is currently in nursing school, which just proves she was here for the right reason. This is her passion to take care of people! That warmed my heart! All her actions, helpfulness, and positive attitude brightened moms day! Something mom mentioned to me was, “Ya know, I never once saw Alma on her cell phone.” For an 8 hour shift I think that speaks for itself! With both Dawn and Alma they have gone above and beyond what we asked for or expected!! When I asked them to document certain items like time meds given, basic vitals, and drain management, each was very thorough and did exactly how I asked. When you are trusting someone else with your loved one’s care, it can be frightening and uncomfortable. However, there has NOT been one experience since my first call to Home Instead that made me have any doubts or concerns!! God has placed these Angels to help and protect my mom when we can’t be there. They are Angels!! ❤️
