I’m 70 years old and dropped 45 pounds on PhD Weight Loss. Thank you Dr. Ashley for teaching me how to nourish my body. After trying so many programs, I’ve finally learned that will power has nothing to do with keeping off the pounds. It’s simply learning what my individual body needs on a daily bases to maintain a healthy weight. This program has some basic information that applies to everyone, but there is also nuances that apply solely to your reactions to food and timing.I am so excited to finally understand what foods I thrive on. I can find something on any menu that works for me. And of course meals at home are so simple. Thank you Dr. Ashley for the freedom that knowledge brings to knowing I am finally making good choices. I used to just think I knew what to eat, boy was I wrong. I went from watching calories & fat, to watching carbs and timing of meals and snacks. Now I’m eating proteins, healthy fats, and non-root veggies (& limited cheese, fruit & nuts). I have been this size before, but never this healthy. Result, 95 empty hangers in my closet, nothing fits, even my hats & shoes are loose!

My Experience with PHD Weight Loss
I was asked to review my experience with PHD Weight Loss. I will be as succinct as possible in the hope that I can help someone decide whether this program is right for them.
Positive Aspects
The staff, for the most part, are helpful and knowledgeable.
The program can work if:
You have the financial means to continue beyond the original contract if necessary.
You need and value accountability.
The program taught me a great deal about nutrition and food choices.
My Experience
I am a very disciplined person and followed the program as directed, with only a few exceptions.
I prepare my own meals, rarely eat out, and do not eat fast food.
I generally avoid fried foods, sugar, and excessive salt, except for occasional holidays and special occasions such as birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Challenges I Encountered
The program is extremely restrictive and offers very little flexibility.
I did not reach PHD’s goal weight during my first enrollment, despite reaching a weight that I was comfortable with and that my physician approved.
In my opinion, the original goal weight was not appropriate for my body or metabolism.
When I rejoined the program, the goal was adjusted to 10 pounds less than the original target.
Financial Concerns
I spent approximately $10,000 on the program.
As my weight loss slowed to about one pound per week instead of the three to four pounds per week anticipated in the original contract, I was told that I would need to pay additional money to continue.
I was unwilling to continue investing more money under those circumstances.
I am a very active person, awake from approximately 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and active throughout the day.
I often felt I needed more food, and adjustments to my meal plan sometimes took weeks.
Maintenance and Health Considerations
After leaving the program, I successfully maintained my weight for two years without gaining.
My physician later recommended that I incorporate grains and fruit and follow a Mediterranean-style diet.
While on the PHD program, my cholesterol and LDL levels increased, although I acknowledge that I have a strong genetic predisposition to lipid issues.
After transitioning to a Mediterranean diet, I gained approximately 10 pounds, largely because I was estimating portion sizes for grains.
Food Quality
Although food is included in the program, I found very little of it to be palatable.
The program previously provided a protein bar as an afternoon snack but discontinued it because participants were allegedly becoming dependent on it.
However, participants were then told they could purchase and use their own approved protein bars. I found this policy inconsistent and confusing.
Aside from dinner, most of the food provided was not food I would normally choose to eat.
Final Thoughts
If you have substantial financial resources, are in excellent health, and have less than 55 pounds to lose, this program may be a good fit for you.
However, if you have a significant amount of weight to lose, you may be required to remain on a highly restrictive plan for a year or longer.
In my experience, the program may be deficient in nutrients such as calcium, vitamin C, and fiber.
Ultimately, the program was not the right fit for me.
Nevertheless, you will learn a great deal about food and nutrition, and you will need to decide for yourself how beneficial that knowledge is in your long-term health journey.

o,
My name is Angelo Mack. I started the PHD Weight Loss and Nutrition program a month ago. So far I have lost a total of 20 pounds. The program has been wonderful thus far. The coaches in the Charlotte area has been great in helping me achieve this success thus far. In our weekly meeting we go over the foods that I have eaten to help my body get into the fat burn process. I know it’s early on, but I looked at a previous picture of myself and can tell I have lost some. I’m feeling better about myself and have gained confidence in the process. I’ve tried to lose weight before, but never stuck to the nutrition values PHD provides. I would gain it right back. PHD programs teaches you how to keep the weight off and maintain the best quality of life possible. The foods they provide as help is great. Two of my favorites are their chicken noodle soup and their Creamsicle Shake. Oh, and not to mention their website with extra recipes for making healthy food is great. My wife helps me prep food from their site for the both of us. She’s helping me with my journey and has lost 10 pounds in the process herself. I’d highly recommend PHD Weight Loss to anyone who is struggling with weight loss. You won’t be disappointed. They are truly here for you and want to see you succeed. I’m doing it and you can too.
