  UPDATE: I went back for a refitting with Dr. Hannon, and he deserves all the credit. He was extremely professional, down to earth, and had great bedside manner. He even made me laugh and had me completely comfortable. He spoke clearly, didn’t rush, and made sure I left with corrected glasses and contacts prescriptions. He also understood right away why I’d been having headaches: the prescription from my first visit was way too strong. If you come here, ask for Dr. Hannon. ORIGINAL VISIT: My experience with Dr. Banawoe was odd, to say the least. There was no orientation to the practice, and he barely introduced himself when he walked in. The appointment felt so rushed that I had to ask whether establishing care with patients is something he even does. When I tried to share my vision history, he cut me off and then told me things I already knew. Several of his remarks came across as condescending, and he mumbled so much I could barely hear him. The one thing I heard clearly was that he’d be on vacation. I even told him, in all seriousness, “please don’t mess up my prescription,” because my gut said something was off. I came in for an updated glasses and contacts prescription and got all the bells and whistles (retinal photo, fitting, etc.). Then he critiqued how badly the photo of my left eye was taken and said “the back of your eye looks good.” That was it. I had to ask for advice and basic explanations. During one vision test, he kept asking if I could see two screens. I told him repeatedly that I couldn’t, and he kept insisting they were there without adjusting anything. Eventually I just said yes to move on. Watching Dr. Hannon do the same test correctly made it clear how wrong the first one went. When I tried to give the trial contacts time to settle, Dr. Banawoe rushed me out the door. Understaffing isn’t the patient’s problem to absorb. He told me only my left eye has astigmatism, which was not accurate at all. The prescription was too strong and gave me headaches almost immediately. The sample contacts he said were better for dry eyes were drier than my usual ones, and no one followed up like he said they would. To the office’s credit, when I left a voicemail, they promptly got me back in for a refitting. But I still had to spend extra time and gas to get it all corrected. Bottom line: don’t waste your time with Dr. Banawoe. Dr. Hannon is the reason I’m giving this office another chance, and I’ll only return as long as he’s working there.

  Dr. Hannon and staff were all so kind and professional. The doctor took his time to explain things to me and offered advice I had never heard before. Really loved his enthusiasm and sense of humor.

  I had a great experience at Target Optical. The Optician was very knowledgeable and took the time to share a few tips and explain things to me. I plan on returning next year.
