  Beginner yoga looking for a class while traveling through Asheville, this place was the best! Loved the class, the instructor was awesome, and all the studio had to offer. Will be back!

  I’ve been a member of Y6 since opening day. I had previously been a member at a local Pilates studio but was looking for a change. I’m not a yogi and had very limited experience doing yoga before joining. I’d only ever taken one hot yoga class before, and funny enough, I didn’t even know Y6 was going to be a hot studio. Even with all the uncertainty and lack of experience, I never felt more like I belonged. I don’t know about your previous yoga experiences, but I often walked into studios feeling like an outsider because I didn’t know the names of the poses. It felt like if you weren’t a “true yogi” with the right clothes who knew all the poses, you shouldn’t be there. At Y6, the classes are such a blend. One class you’re doing weights and it feels more like a HIIT class, and in another you might be in a yoga-focused dance class. There’s something for everyone. The best part for me is the relationships! Nicole and Ben, the owners of the studio, are the kindest humans who make you feel like part of their family. All of the teachers are outstanding, and they take a true interest in your experience. I’m not a morning person, but I want to be there at 6am for Eduardo’s sculpt class, and I love the 6pm Wednesday class with Christy because her playlists are the absolute best and she makes it fun. Each teacher brings such a different experience — if you like chaturangas, you’ll love Laura’s classes; Ruth will always give you a great class no matter which one she’s teaching; Nancy has the most relaxing restore class; and the list goes on. You just have to try it for yourself!

  Megan’s class was wonderful! It was challenging and I really enjoyed her taste in music. The studio itself was exceptionally clean and had a warm, intimate feel. The woman at the front desk was incredibly kind and helpful, and I especially appreciated the sense of community. People actually stayed and chatted with one another after class, which made the studio feel particularly welcoming.

  I loveeee yogasix. I am an Asheville local and have been trying to find a good yoga place for forever that wasn’t so hippy that it smelt like BO but still a safe space and made you feel comfortable and welcomed. Their staff are the kindness people ever, and also the instructors. They have a wide variety of classes and my favorite (hot yoga). They have affordable prices for young adults and students- and a great starting deal to check it out - 3 classes for $36 dollars. That’s an amazing price for yoga in Asheville. Something that also really stood out to me is I walked in and everyone was so friendly and smiley and knew each other. Caught up with each others lives, it’s truly a little cute community. Also- their bathrooms are lovely and clean and fully stocked of literally ANYTHING you could need- and nice products too. Someone put their heart and soul into this place. So yeah if you are like me and need to destress before going to college, go here. Will be returning for breaks!

  I first came to Y6 when I was only in town 2-3 days per week, and from that first visit I knew that once I was in town full time I wanted to join Y6 ASAP for regular practice. Since moving here full time, joining Y6 has been a top priority for me and is the first real investment I’ve made in my attempt to build community here permanently! Everyone is so kind, so open, so safe. Much of my wellness goals here are focused on strengthening my joints as someone with widespread hypermobility and pain, and I feel like the non-judgmental environment of Y6 is the perfect place for me to do that. ANOTHER bonus here for me is that as someone with a busy mind like many of us, the Y6 classes give me a consistent opportunity to completely unplug and be intentional about taking care of myself with no distractions. The studio itself is so cute and the warm temperature is pretty crucial for keeping that good blood flow in order to keep the awareness of my joints and trying not to hyperextend them when they want to. The people are wonderful and sooo welcoming. I just can’t say enough about the safety I feel here! (Prices are also VERY reasonable for the local scene and the schedule tends to offer more flexibility & availability than other spots nearby that I’ve noticed). Excited and grateful to be a part :)
