  I took my ten year old son there with $600 to spend and a swollen belly. He had no Medicaid or insurance. The office manager turned us away because the potential tests could go up to a thousand dollars. I informed her I just needed a regular doctor visit and if it goes past $600 I can figure it out from there but he needs to see a doctor.j She refused. Said it was legal to turn people away and told me to take him to the ER where they could "help me out with payments" He got treated and was constipated and needed Myralax. No thousand dollars needed it turns out, which is great. But what isn't great is that my son got to be rejected from a place for the first time in his life because someone decided he didn't fit in. First words out of his mouth when we walked out "that lady was a jerk". It hurt him and it was humiliating for me. It's wrong for a physicians practice to decide who they want in and who they don't. It is a thousand times more wrong for the office manager to make medical calls without a child being seen by a doctor. I wouldn't go to this clinic if it was the last one in the country, I was broke and they offered to care for my entire family for free. It's a center of commerce, not medicine. Doctors suck too for what it's worth. Went there years ago and they do have plenty of great equipment but you need doctors who can take that data and make a proper diagnosis out of it. I certainly can't and don't pretend to speak for everyone but they didn't do that in my case. If it sounds like I'm angry I am. To pawn paying customers/patients off to the ER and have them incur the incredibly large bill you get from that is morally dubious at best. That's ok though. At least the ER will "help you with the payments".
