Just purchased an electric wheelchair for my 96 year old mother in assisted living. Everyone associated with this company was so very helpful. Chris went above and beyond in providing us with not only professional service but demonstrated his heart for helping people in need of assistance in the patient and personal way he interacted with my mom in her facility. I would give Med X Change 10 stars if I could!!!

Med X Change is the real deal! I wish I had known that they installed wheelchair ramps before I made the mistake of using another company. Next time they will be my first call. I moved my mom in to my house and had no way of getting her out. I was in a rush to obtain a ramp. I did not do my research and ended up in a nightmare. In steps Chris/Med X Change and his crew to save the day! They came out quickly, were super nice, and very knowledgeable and efficient. They worked on correcting all of the issues with the ramp (installed by another company, sorry Med X Change). I've used Med X previously and they are always on time, reasonably priced and courteous. I recommend them to everyone!! Always call them first if they can't help (which is rare),
they always know who can.

My grandson came up for a visit and his wheelchair was bent and broken. I called and talked to I believe Chris he was great. After coming in they listened to our concerns and needs. I was able to get him a wheelchair that actually worked. Chris also called the original company and found out they could fix his custom wheelchair for free. I am so thankful for everything they did. Very nice and compassionate people.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. The staff showed incredible patience, kindness, and professionalism while helping my father find the right scooter. They took the time to answer every question, explain all of the options, and made sure he felt comfortable and confident throughout the process.
What stood out most was the genuine care and respect they showed him. They never rushed him and treated him with dignity
every step of the way. Finding the right mobility solution can be overwhelming, but they made the experience positive, reassuring, and even enjoyable.
Thank you for your outstanding service and compassion. It truly meant a great deal to our family!

Purchased a Stair lift from Med X Change. Worked with Chris on the phone. He gave me a price on the phone that was 60% of what my other bids were for the same HarMar SL600 stair lift. Didn’t have to play stupid games on the price. They installed the lift in a little over a week. The installers did a very professional job. My wife is very happy with her new stair lift. Now we can hang out in the basement again. Thanks.
Why would I choose a vertical platform lift over a ramp?
Vertical platform lifts are preferable in situations with limited space or higher elevations. They are an excellent solution for challenging entries like porches or decks. Compared to modular ramps, which require one foot of ramp for every inch of rise as per ADA regulations, vertical platform lifts are more compact. They are also often considered more visually appealing than aluminum modular ramps. For individuals with mobility disabilities, which affect 12.2% of American adults according to the CDC, vertical platform lifts can be an ideal choice for overcoming stairs.

How safe is a stair lift?
Stair lifts are designed with mandatory safety features by all manufacturers. These include chairs equipped with armrests and safety belts to ensure the user remains secure and comfortable. Multiple safety stop sensors are installed to halt the stair lift if any obstruction is detected in the tracks or beneath the chair, providing an additional layer of safety.
Can the stairs be used in a normal capacity with a stair lift installed?
Yes, stairs can still be used normally with a stair lift installed. The lift's track occupies only a small portion of the staircase, allowing for easy passage. The chair, including its seat, handrails, and footplate, can be folded up to maximize space for regular stair use. While most individuals should have no difficulty navigating the stairs, some adjustment may be necessary when carrying larger items around the stair lift.

How does a lift chair differ from a typical reclining sofa chair?
A power reclining lift chair combines the comfort of a typical recliner with assistive technology for elderly or physically challenged individuals. It can be adjusted with a simple button press, unlike standard recliners that require manual adjustment and physical strength. Power lift chairs typically offer more recline options than standard recliners, depending on the chosen model. They provide similar assistance to stair lifts in enhancing mobility and independence.
What factors do I need to consider when purchasing a lift chair?
When selecting a lift chair, consider the required positions, frequency and duration of use, and whether you'll be sleeping in it. For extended use or sleeping, an infinite position or zero gravity chair may be more suitable. For less frequent use, a basic 2 or 3 position chair might suffice. Other important factors include fabric type, user size and weight, and available options. Fabric choice may depend on factors such as perspiration or incontinence. For guidance on selecting the right lift chair, please contact our team.
Why are power recline lift chairs more expensive than a regular recliner?
Power recline lift chairs command a higher price due to their electric motor operation, enhanced comfort features, multiple position options, and additional functionalities compared to standard recliners. Leading manufacturers use premium materials in their construction to ensure durability and longevity. For information about our selection of high-quality lift chairs, please reach out to our team.
What is the difference between a 3-wheel and 4-wheel scooter?
A 3-wheel scooter offers superior maneuverability in confined spaces and often includes anti-tip wheels for added safety and stability. In contrast, a 4-wheel scooter provides a larger floorboard for increased foot space and enhanced stability due to its wider base. For assistance in choosing between mobility scooters or other mobility aids, please contact our team.
How long will the batteries last per full charge on a scooter?
Battery life per charge varies based on factors such as user weight, terrain, travel speed, and battery age. Under typical conditions, our experts estimate that a full charge can provide a range of six to over 30 miles, depending on the specific scooter model. For detailed information about our range of mobility scooters and their battery performance, please consult with our professional team.
Why should I choose a vertical platform lift instead of a ramp?
Vertical platform lifts are ideal for limited space or higher elevations and are visually more appealing and compact compared to modular ramps. They are excellent for challenging entries like porches or decks and offer good mobility solutions for individuals with disabilities.
