What is Acne? Acne Vulgaris is a long-term and possibly life-long skin condition caused by dead skin and oil that clogs the hair follicles. Acne lesions can be divided into two categories: inflammatory and non-inflammatory. Non-inflammatory acne lesions consist of open comedones, commonly referred to as “blackheads”, and closed comedones commonly referred to as “ whiteheads”. Inflammatory acne lesions are called papules and pustules, AKA zits, nodules, or cysts. The optimal acne treatments focus on addressing the predominant type of acne lesions. Regular exfoliation will help maintain tone and texture and minimize recurring breakouts. Face washes, toner, serums, moisturizers, and SPF are all going to be beneficial for your at-home regimen between your monthly treatments with your aesthetician. These products ensure that you maintain and enhance the progress from the treatments. How does a medical practice differ in treatment from a spa? We do medical extraction and cyst drainage and removal when needed. Our medical approach uses not only state-of-the-art technology but also backed by peer-reviewed medical research. Treatment plans start with a comprehensive skin analysis by our medical aestheticians to determine the best approach. After your skin analysis, we will tailor our products to your skin care needs. We have a range of treatments that can be used to treat acne, tone, and texture. We focus on skin treatments that do not have systemic side effects and do not disturb the body’s natural microbiome. Exfoliation Treatments Salt Facials: This facial starts with an antimicrobial salt exfoliant and is followed by a nourishing, ultrasonic massage with custom peels. The facial is completed with customized LED light therapy which helps calm inflammation, treat acne, stimulate collagen, and reverse sun damage. Microdermabrasion (MDA) Exfoliation: This acne treatment option uses silica crystals which mechanically remove dead skin cells and open pores. It promotes cellular turnover of skin cells and helps with fine lines Chemical Exfoliation: Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) represents acids derived from a natural substance like sugar cane, milk, almonds, or grapes. They work by breaking down the glue holding your skin cells together, urging along the skin’s natural shedding process. BHAs penetrate deeper into the skin, but the effects of AHAs are primarily felt on the skin’s surface. If you have surface-level skin concerns like red marks from past acne, this constant sloughing off of dead, dull skin cells is helpful for hyperpigmentation. Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA): This ingredient is best for acne-prone skin and those with deeper skin concerns since BHA penetrates further into the skin. While AHAs love water, BHAs love oil. They can bypass the oil that clogs pores and dissolve the mix of sebum and dead skin that leads to acne, as well as stabilize the lining of the pore (which contributes to acne). BHAs clear up blackheads, and whiteheads, and have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. This umbrella term includes the popular anti-acne ingredient of Salicylic Acid. BHAs also exfoliate the top layer but are best bought for their deep penetrative qualities. Chemical Peels There are many benefits of superficial peels. Among the most notable is the ability to adjust the depth to fit the particular skin problem. As more coats are applied, the peel will get deeper, as the solution goes looking for protein to neutralize itself. The long-lasting results make it an ideal peel for those who prefer fewer peeling sessions at the cost of moderate downtime. Lactic Peel: If your skin is sensitive, some of the peels on this list may irritate it. You may want to look into a light chemical peel, such as a lactic peel. As the name suggests, lactic peels come from milk and utilize lactic acid. It’s not only gentle on easily irritated skin but also moisturizes dry skin. Beta Peel: Acne can be embarrassing and annoying to deal with. If you have a bunch of problem breakouts, a beta peel will be able to help you. It contains salicylic acid which is great for exfoliation and oil control. Salicylic acid also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Salicylic acid takes care of the bacteria that cause acne breakouts to give you the relief that you’ve been searching for. Trichloroacetic Acid Treatment (TCA): This is an effective chemical agent used to exfoliate and renew the skin from a superficial to a deep level. TCA is commonly applied to the face, neck, décolleté, hands, and legs. In addition, Trichloroacetic acid is also an excellent “acne spot treatment” and can be used to exclusively peel isolated areas of the skin.

Chemical Peel Overview Made from acidic solutions Peels away damaged skin layers Removes/reduces acne scars, age spots & wrinkles Refreshes the skin, leaving a younger look Side effects are minimal, with most only experiencing tender skin Cost varies depending on the type of peel sought Restore your skin to it’s youthful glow with a chemical peel from St. Louis Lipo Today! Who Benefits from Chemical Peels? Anyone with hyperpigmentation, age spots wrinkles or fine lines caused by the natural aging process, sun damage, or other environmental factors. Individuals with mild to severe acne can also benefit from a chemical peel. Anyone who wants to improve their skin’s appearance. Chemical peels can be applied to any area of the body, with the face, neck, and hands being the most popular. What Exactly is a Chemical Peel? Most chemical peels are made from acidic solutions. The solution is applied to the skin to cleanse and remove dead skin cells. A chemical peel can treat a variety of issues including acne, age spots, warts, uneven skin tone, fine lines, and moderate wrinkles. Types of Chemical Peels There are several types of chemical peel solutions that vary from mild to extreme degrees of peels. The type of chemical peel used is based on the severity of skin damage and the type of results the individual is looking for. A full skin evaluation will be completed by the physician and medical esthetician to determine what type of peel will be most beneficial. The most common active ingredients used in chemical peels are: Glycolic Acid Lactic Acid Salicylic Acid Resorcinol Acid Maleic Acid Trichloroacetic Acid Light Chemical Peels Glycolic peels contain fruit acid, which makes this type of peel all natural. This type of peel is great for treating individuals with uneven skin tone, sun damage, fine lines or moderate wrinkles. This is also a great peel for anyone that wants to freshen their appearance. Jessner peels contain a combination of three acids; lactic, salicylic, and resorcinol. A Jessner peel is considered to be a light peel, but is stronger than a glycolic peel. This type of peel is very effective in treating acne; as well as, sun damage, uneven skin tone, and fine lines and wrinkles. Moderate Chemical Peels Deeper peels, such as Trichloroacetic acid or TCA peels, penetrate below the skin surface to correct a wide range of skin damage including sun damage, hyperpigmentation, acne, and fine lines and wrinkles. Patients will experience a deeper level of skin resurfacing with this peel and will have some downtime following the procedure. Preparing for your Chemical Peel Before your chemical peel, you may be asked to stop taking some medications. A review of your medications will be completed at your consultation and skin evaluation. If you have a history of cold sores (Herpes Simplex – HSV-1), the doctor may put you on medication such as Valtrex. You will also discuss the depth of your peel with our esthetician and Dr. Wright, which will be determined based on the condition of your skin and your desired results. How are Chemical Peels Done? The treatment area will be cleaned thoroughly by the esthetician prior to applying the chemical solution. The desired chemical solution will then be applied to the area using a sponge. Depending on the level of depth desired, the esthetician will apply one or several layers of chemical solution. During the chemical peel, most people experience a burning sensation that lasts about 5 – 10 minutes. This is followed by a stinging sensation. Cool compresses will be applied to the treatment area to soothe any discomfort. What to Expect After Your Chemical Peel Depending on the type of chemical peel, most people experience a reaction similar to sunburn immediately following the procedure. After a light peel, most people experience peeling for 3 – 7 days following the procedure. Light peels may be completed one to four weeks apart. Following a medium peel you may experience swelling, brown crusting, blisters, and peeling for 7 – 14 days after the procedure. Medium peels can be repeated 6 – 12 months apart.

Avéli™ Long-Term Cellulite Reduction Procedure St. Louis Liposuction Center is excited to be one of the first to offer Avéli™ for a meaningful and lasting reduction in cellulite dimples. What is cellulite? Why do I have cellulite? Cellulite is a depression of any shape or size with defined edges seen on the skin’s surface, typically on the buttocks or thighs. A major underlying cause of cellulite is the fibrous bands that tether your skin to the structures below. These bands are called septa. Some septa are good (and you want them as connective tethers), but others stiffen or shrink over time and lead to the dimples we see on the surface and call cellulite. It’s essential to distinguish cellulite from other concerns like laxity or localized fat, which we can discuss during a consultation in our office. You should also know that cellulite is not your fault (genetics and hormones play a role), and you are not alone – up to 90% of women have it! What is an Avéli™ cellulite reduction treatment? Avéli™ is a no-nonsense approach to treating cellulite based on a deep understanding of women’s anatomy. While many treatments approach cellulite blindly from the outside in, Avéli™ identifies and releases the primary structural cause of cellulite from the inside out in a single minimally invasive procedure with little downtime. How to reduce cellulite with Avéli™ Avéli™ is an option for a range of women across the cellulite severity spectrum. The procedure is performed by one of our trained providers and uses a handheld device to manually target and release the complicated web of septa bands causing cellulite dimples. Avéli™ addresses the primary structural cause of cellulite in 3 steps: Your provider guides the Avéli™ device under the skin directly to the targeted dimples. After your provider identifies the culprit septa bands causing a dimple, those septa are precisely released. Your provider can confirm their release in real time, delivering visibly smoother skin quickly after the procedure. More Common Questions About Avéli™ Cellulite Treatment Q: How do I know if Avéli™ is right for me? A: If you are a woman in St. Louis or O’Fallon, Missouri area looking for long-term reduction in cellulite dimples from a single, minimally invasive in-office procedure, Avéli™ could be for you! Schedule a consultation with us to determine if you are a candidate. Q: Does Avéli™ only treat cellulite dimples? A: Avéli™ treats the septa bands causing cellulite dimples. It is not a procedure that addresses other concerns often seen alongside cellulite, such as laxity (loose skin) or localized pockets of fat. Q: Will I need multiple sessions? A: Nope! During a single cellulite procedure, a provider can fully treat the targeted cellulite dimples on both your buttocks and thighs. Q: How long does the procedure take? A: A typical procedure will take around an hour, including local anesthesia and the procedure itself. Exact timing will vary depending on the personalized procedure plan from your provider. Q: Is there any downtime after the procedure? A: Little to none. In the clinical study, most patients returned to normal activities within 24-48 hours. Q: Are there any side effects? A: In the clinical study, the most common side effects reported were mild pain within the first 24 hours and bruising and tenderness to the touch which typically resolved within 30 days. Small areas of firmness, usually not visible or painful, typically resolved in a couple of months. Q: How quickly will I see improvement in my cellulite? A: Avéli™ cellulite reduction results should be visible once swelling and bruising subsides. By one-month post-procedure you should start to see the effects of the procedure. Q: Can I work out or exercise after the procedure? A: It is recommended to avoid any strenuous activities or workouts in the first few days/weeks after the procedure to allow the area to heal. We will provide you with complete post-procedure expectations and recommendations. Q: How long will the results last? A: Participants in the clinical study demonstrated a lasting reduction in the appearance of their cellulite when assessed one year after the procedure. Avéli™ is indicated for long-term reduction in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thigh areas of adult females as supported by clinical data demonstrating treatment benefits through one year of observation. The most common side effects reported were mild pain within the first 24 hours and bruising and tenderness to the touch which typically resolved within 30 days. Some patients returned to normal activities within one day of the procedure and most within a week. As with any medical procedure, there are risks associated with the procedure. Consult with your physician for complete safety information.

Deciding on the right type of filler and injectable can be overwhelming. There are so many to choose from! At St. Louis Lipo, we have a wide range of options depending on your cosmetic goals, and our facial fillers and neurotoxins can help get you where you want to go. Our team of professionals is here to walk you through your options and what options may fit your goals and budget. Fillers and injectables come in many forms and treatments and deciding which is right for you should always begin with a thorough consultation and exam with a cosmetic professional in order to determine the product that can best achieve your desired results. Whether you’re looking to highlight your natural bone structure, increase volume, or decrease deep lines and wrinkles, there’s a solution for you. Fillers can be used to address a wide range of facial features and areas. A skilled injector will focus on the areas around the face to return the face to its rounder and more youthful shape. Types of Injectibles & Fillers: Learn more about... Lip Fillers Restylane Radiesse Dysport Bellafill Facial Filler Treatment Areas Chin: To address the appearance of your chin and/or lower face, fillers can highlight your bone structure in this area. A small or recessed chin can give the appearance of a double chin. Volume loss around the chin increase line or wrinkle formation on the lower face especially around the mouth. Cheeks: Fill hollow areas in the cheek or mid-facial areas, help lift sagging skin, or fill the area to increase volume and lift. As we age the cheeks lose volume and the volume loss leads to skin sagging and wrinkle formation on the face. Loss of cheek volume causes the nasolabial fold to increase and as the skin on the cheeks falls it leads to jowls forming on the lower face and lines appearing around the mouth. Plumping the cheek up with a filler is the quickest way to make the face look younger. Jaw Line: Often used to strengthen the jawline, improve “double chin” appearance, define a jawline, or address symmetry in this area. A lax jawline causes the skin in the center of the face to loosen and sag. A firm jawline helps some look fit and confident and is a must for people who want to look their best on video calls. Tear Trough and Under Eyes: Treat wrinkles, sagging skin, and fine lines around the eyes. The deep crease between the lower eyelids and upper cheek is often thought of as a “shadow” under your eyes or referred to when you have “bags under your eyes”, making you appear tired. As we lose volume in our cheeks the fat pad under the eyes becomes more visible and that is what looks like bags. Filling in the hollow trough returns the fullness to the center of the face smooths out and connects the underlying fat pads giving a youthful and refreshed appearance. Lips: Increase volume and looks of “suppleness”, adjust the shape of the top, bottom, or both lips, create great symmetry, add a “lip flip” on the top lip, or use fillers to help with wrinkles and sagginess of the lips. Note: Can be used at the same time in the mouth area (below). Mouth: Similar to the lips, use fillers to address fine lines around the lips and mouth, sagging skin, wrinkles, frown lines, or improve symmetry in this area. Marionette Lines: These are a good example of hard lines around the mouth – these are long, vertical lines that often run down the face from the corner of the mouth down towards the chin. Nasolabial Folds: Similar to Marionette lines, nasolabial folds are deep, indented lines in the face that typically begin at the nose, and run down (horizontally) towards the corners of the mouth. Temples: Treat sunken temples and lost volume in the temple area, soften sharpened edges, and use fillers to replace lost tissue or fat volume in this area to avoid an “angular” appearance. Types of Injectables & Fillers: In the majority of cases, the solution lies in a combination of products that each works to create a smooth, full effect at the point of injection. Rest assured that Dr. Wright has put together an experienced and passionate team to partner with you through the process, and will work with you to get your desired result. Below are several options, and we highly encourage that you schedule a consultation to discuss your needs and what will work best. Juvederm is an injectable that targets the development of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose. This highly precise injection is a filler that comes with the added benefit of long-lasting results. Radisse is an even more specific product choice for patients that struggle with volume loss around the mouth, while those that choose to use Restylane will enjoy the benefit of increased Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) after injections, meaning a stronger collection of cell surface proteins.

How Does Our Breakthrough Laser Hair Removal Method Work? With traditional laser hair reduction, a single pulse of high energy is fired repeatedly at a small area of skin, destroying the hair follicle permanently. With our breakthrough method using the state-of-the-art Soprano XLi, a laser sweeps smoothly and comfortably over large areas of skin, destroying the follicles but leaving skin undamaged. We offer the best result possible: Painless treatments that remove hair. Is Laser Hair Removal Painful? The sensation felt during treatment with St. Louis Laser Liposuction’s Soprano Xli laser has been likened to a ‘hot stone massage’ whereas other hair removal lasers have been said to feel like ‘a rubber band snapping’ or ‘a series of moderate shocks.’ Your trained technician runs the Soprano XLi in slow, relaxing sweeping motions across your skin. Because the laser features a comfortable dual chilled cooling head, this treatment usually creates a mild sensation of warm contact rather than one of discomfort or pain. Our laser hair removal method typically takes minutes per area (larger areas such as back or leg take longer). There is less risk of side effect with the Soprano Xli because the ‘Gold Standard’ 810-nm diode laser heats the layers under the skin first, providing more protection to the dermis, even with patients with darker skins. The system also uses a dual chilled cooling head to further protect the skin. What Should I Do/Not Do After Treatment? Our pain-free laser hair removal method using the Soprano XLi means that there is no down time after your treatment. You can return immediately to your day-to-day activities. We would like you to wear sunscreen at all times, but especially if there will be UV exposure after treatment. When will I see results? Some people see instant hair reduction while others may have to wait a few weeks, depending where they are in active hair growth cycle. Typically, the hair will seem untreated for a few days, and then as it extrudes, the treated hair will simply fall out to be wiped away. This is because the hair is treated at the follicle, at the base, so it continues to push out for a few days. How many treatments do I need with this laser hair removal method? The number of treatments you require varies from person from person. We typically advise three sessions to start. We do not lock you in to a large multi-treatment purchase like the big chains do. Most people need from 5-7 treatments. Occasionally clients may require a few more, sometimes less, but we can assess this as you move through your treatment. Since hair is always in one of three phases, and only the active hair responds to the treatment, we recommend at least three treatments to treat each of those cycles before assessing or planning more treatments. our laser hair removal method What is the Benefit of Diolaze? Unlike traditional methods (waxing, shaving, bleaching or using depilatory creams), Diolaze laser hair removal impacts the root of the problem, rather than offering a temporary solution. Traditional methods will require treatment forever, while Diolaze only requires a few sessions. Most patients immediately notice a significant reduction in hair growth after a few sessions and eventually smooth. What Is Diolaze? Diolaze is an advanced laser hair removal procedure that safely and gently eliminates unwanted hair. Diolaze has one of the largest treatment spot sizes, making treatments convenient and fast. The combination of efficacy, patient comfort and speed makes Diolaze the leader in laser hair removal. How Does Diolaze Work? During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth. Does It Hurt Diolaze has a built in skin cooling surface which is one of the largest for all hair removal devices. This makes treatment more comfortable than other devices, with most patients noting that Diolaze is virtually painless. Why Do I Need Multiple Treatments To Achieve Hair Removal? As with all laser hair removal methods, Diolaze requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage, however, at any given time, your hair is in various stages of growth. How Many Sessions Are Required? With each treatment, hair is reduced and best results are observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone. Which Areas of the Body Can Be Treated? Diolaze can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.

Healthy, glowing and youthful skin isn’t easy to maintain. Between exposure to UV rays, pollutants in the air and a combination of genetics, the fight to maintain the skin we love can feel like an uphill battle. While factors that affect the health of skin such as decreasing collagen and elastin levels due to age are clearly unavoidable, there are steps that can be taken to protect skin as much as possible. Working to keep fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin at bay by implementing a dedicated skincare routine is a path to keeping skin looking youthful and healthy for the long-term. Combing a regular skincare routine with a treatment option such as microdermabrasion only enhances the desired results. Understanding Microdermabrasion An innovative and successful treatment option for patients who are hoping to improve their overall skin health, condition, and tone, microdermabrasion is often referred to as microderm. This non-invasive approach to skin health and clarity allows a cosmetic physician or dermatologist to remove the top layer of skin that’s damaged in order to allow a new, fresh layer of skin cells to take its place. Patients who elect microdermabrasion to treat their skin will also often enjoy the added benefit of softer and smoother skin as well. The Microdermabrasion Process The ease, comfort, and convenience of microdermabrasion had made it extremely popular amongst patients and physicians alike. This form of skin treatment can be administered in a doctor’s office and is generally completed in less than an hour. The first half of a microdermabrasion session focuses on removing damaged skin cells while the second half of the session focuses on moisturizing skin to promote healthy healing. Once the treatment area is clearly marked, the attending physician runs a hand-held device over the surface of the skin and dead skin cells are buffed away to reveal healthier-looking skin below. An interior vacuum is built into the microdermabrasion device to quickly remove dead skin cells, clearing pores for the moisturizing effects to follow. Results and Recovery One of the greatest benefits to patients that elect microdermabrasion is the virtual lack of a recovery period associated with the treatment process. The majority of patients return to their daily activities on the same day as treatment is performed. At most, patients report a slight redness or sensitivity at the treatment site that generally disappears within a day or two following treatment. While some patients find a single session of microdermabrasion delivers successful results, the majority of patients will participate in a multi-session experience where microdermabrasion is spaced out at 2-week intervals over the course of 12 weeks. Cost Skin type, the size of the treatment area, and the number of sessions required to achieve optimal results all factor into the final cost of microdermabrasion. To this end, it’s important that patients openly discuss their treatment plan prior to participating in a session. The team at the St. Louis Laser Liposuction Center is happy to walk patients through a variety of financing and payment plan options to make their experience as smooth and convenient as possible. A Safe Way to Achieve Change Long gone are the days when the world of cosmetic alterations was dominated by highly invasive procedures. Today, patients enjoy a variety of treatment and service options that range from minimally invasive to completely non-invasive. Microdermabrasion continues to grow in popularity thanks to its incredible safety record and minimally invasive nature. Microdermabrasion does not require the use of general anesthesia, a hospital stay, or a lengthy recovery period. At most, patients may require over-the-counter pain medications as a follow-up. The ease with which this treatment can be carried out makes it very safe and effective for patients. Confidence is Yours for the Taking If you’re considering the benefits of microdermabrasion in relation to your aesthetic goals, the team at the St. Louis Laser Liposuction Center is ready to partner with you. The first step in beginning a customized path to change and confidence is to schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Wright. After a thorough review of each patient’s medical history, Dr. Wright takes the time to answer questions, inform patients of each and every option available to them, and listens to preferences and concerns in detail. Once a patient feels confident in their options, a personalized treatment plan can be put into place. At our clinic, a comprehensive approach to patient care is key and we understand that emotional well-being is closely linked with physical changes. We’re here to help our patients face both fronts and achieve successful results while keeping safety top of mind. Contact us today to begin the journey to the confidence you deserve!

For many patients seeking cosmetic services, noticeable changes on the face are a primary cause for concern. While these changes are often natural or expected, there’s no reason for them simply to be endured. The development of fine lines and wrinkles can be linked back to a number of internal and external factors. For some individuals, lines, wrinkles and sagging facial skin are caused by lowered levels of elastin and collagen that occurs with age. For others, these changes can be caused by genetic factors or overexposure to UV rays. Some cosmetic experts have even suggested that a series of hormonal fluctuations in men and women can be to blame for these changes in appearance. While the physical signs of age, genetics or hormones can be distressing, there is a long list of options for patients looking to diminish or erase fine lines, wrinkles, and other facial skin impurities. Skin rejuvenation is a popular reason many patients walk through the door of a cosmetic clinic. Topping the list of solution options for many of these individuals is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial skin rejuvenation. Patients who elect this treatment option often do so for successful results it delivers over the long-term as well as its proven track record of safety and efficiency. The IPL Photofacial Process One of the greatest draws for patients electing IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation is the fact that the entire process is non-surgical and still produces successful results. Those looking to achieve clearer, smoother-looking skin can do so in a relatively short amount of time from the comfort of an attending physician’s office. Once a patient arrives for treatment, ample time is set aside to thoroughly mark and map the treatment area. Once this is complete, the attending physician will use a handheld device to send light waves through the surface of the skin and into the problematic tissue below. As these light waves pulse through the targeted area, light and heat work in synchronization to achieve the desired results. Damaged cells in the area are treated by the body as a wound to be responded to and collagen levels being to rise in response. As these damaged cells are removed, healthy skin cells are left in their wake, providing patients with the look they love. bright closeup portrait picture of beautiful woman Why Patients choose IPL Photofacial Skin Rejuvenation Patients land on IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation for a number of valid reasons, but the vast majority are drawn to the simplicity of the treatment process itself. The process is quick and efficient and doesn’t require the use of any general anesthesia eliminating all associated risks for patients. This also means patients can enjoy results that aren’t linked to a lengthy hospital stay or an extended recovery period. At most, patients report swelling or redness at the treatment site which generally disappears within 24-48 hours following IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation treatment. Discomfort is often treated with generic over the counter pain medications as needed. What Does IPL Photofacial Skin Rejuvenation Treat? The umbrella results of IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation are often listed as clearer and smoother skin, but the specifics of what this process can eliminate are much more exciting! IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation sessions hold the power to help patients reduce or sometimes eliminate the appearance of age and sunspots as well as discoloration often linked to Rosacea. Additionally, many patients find that IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation can assist in diminishing the appearance of visible pores, spider veins or stretch marks that have developed over time. Some patients that are particularly prone to freckles find that this treatment option can fade the look of newly developed patches and spots. While many find that noticeable changes have occurred after a single session, the majority of those who elect IPL photofacial skin rejuvenation will be recommended a series of sessions to achieve the desired look and results. Considering the Cost of IPL Photofacial Skin Rejuvenation The cost of treatment is an important discussion point with both your physician and insurance provider prior to undergoing any type of cosmetic treatment. Because session numbers will vary as well as the area being treated, the total associated with care will be different between patients. The team at the St Louis Laser Liposuction Center are happy to provide patients with financing and payment plan options directly through our clinic.

Stretch marks are an extremely common reason that men and women find themselves seeking the help of a cosmetic professional. Physical changes in combination with a variety of other factors can lead to these lines and markings appearing on the skin. While weight and size fluctuations are a common source of stretch mark development, age, growth, and pregnancy can all be pointed to as potential factors leading to stretch marks as well. Stretch marks take various forms and ultimately, are scars along the skin. Where some individuals may suffer from stretch marks that are bright purple or red, others may notice nothing more than faded white lines across the abdomen, buttocks, breasts, stomach or thighs. Patients looking to diminish or eliminate the signs of stretch marks often do so to regain a sense of self and not to alleviate any medical risks. Because there’s no guarantee that stretch marks with fade with time, consulting a cosmetic professional is a great first step in taking control of a patient’s aesthetic preferences. Topical Solutions for Treating Stretch Marks Often, the first line of defense when attempting to reduce the appearance of minimal to moderately severe stretch marks is to try a topical solution. Creams, serums, and acids marketed to reduce these unsightly lines and marks are easily accessible as over the counter products in stores. Topical ointments are applied directly to the surface of the skin over the stretch marks and often produce positive results in the short-term. Unfortunately, individuals suffering from more severe stretch marks will often find that topical solutions are inefficient at creating any noticeable change and will need to take further steps to achieve the desired results when treating stretch marks. Intense Pulsed Light Treatment Options When it comes to seeking long-term solutions, many individuals suffering from severe stretch marks will turn to Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment options. This cosmetic procedure allows a certified cosmetic physician to introduce light waves underneath the skin using a handheld device. The waves provoke the body to respond naturally to the “wounds” it’s enduring at a cellular level and replace damaged skin cells at the stretchmark line with healthy, vibrant skin cells instead. Similarly, patients who elect IPL treatment options may do so in combination with microneedling which allows tiny puncture marks along the stretchmark to enhance the healing process of the body and encourages collagen and healthy skin cell development. Both methods often result in the diminished appearance of stretch marks. Microneedling and Stretch Marks Cosmetic physicians that recommend microneedling as a long-term treatment plan do so with the understanding that skin rejuvenation is key to diminishing the appearance of stretch marks over time. The beauty of this process lies in the fact that the treatment encourages the body’s natural response to healing, leading to firmer, smoother and more youthful-looking skin overall. Patients often enjoy the fact that microneedling is a convenient outpatient procedure that’s minimally invasive and comes with proven successful results. As cells continue to rejuvenate with each subsequent microneedling session, patients often see continued improvement in their appearance. PRP for Stretch Marks Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is known to be a key ingredient in the body’s ability to heal, rejuvenate and produce healthy cells. When PRP therapy is combined with microneedling, patients with more severe cases of stretch marks can experience even more successful results.PRP therapy begins with a cosmetic physician drawing a patient’s blood sample and introducing it into a centrifuge. Here the blood is separated out into the PRP and then reinjected into the treatment site once the microneedling process has been completed. As the body responds to the microneedling punctures, the PRP works as an added boost of healing by encouraging collagen and elastin production in the targeted area. Fractora for Stretch Marks While many individuals find clusters of stretch marks on a small area of the body, those who struggle from stretch marks across larger patches of skin may benefit from Fractora as a treatment option. Fractora utilizes radiofrequency waves to treat more profound layers of skin using pulsing waves. As energy works to affect damaged cells below, the body begins its natural process of restoration.
