This review is gonna make very little sense to most of you, but you're the sole reason one of the best story series exists on YouTube. Thank you for allowing Nicholas campana to be there, even if he did misbehave at first

We had high expectations for sending our teenage son here from out of state. I will begin with I know my child has issues, hence why he is there. The issues I had were as followed. -Rules states kids are allowed two 15 minute phone calls a day. There was no monitoring who or how long they were talking. He spent two hours on phone with friends. -Second I was told I would get weekly updates on my child. After being there more than a week I had to call up there to get any information. -Thirdly they state there is a no harassment policy. My child walked in on his younger roommate pleasuring himself in bed. After bringing this to the attention of staff. They blamed it on his younger age and not knowing better. They did not switch the rooms. So, it happened again and my son was triggered. At this point he felt angry and felt he was the one being punished. So he actively tried and succeeded to get kicked out. Thankfully my husband was able to stay in state or I am not sure what we would have done. We had him sent to the hospital with no other resources given. They changed all his meds and we got no literature or call to assist with other facilities. The nurse and doctors at Fairview could not believe how his discharge was handled. So now we are left trying to figure out next steps/medication in a different state. It all could have easily been avoided with a room change. I gave two stars because had some wonderful nurses who cared.

I walked these halls 10 years ago. Tim Helmek (I forgot if that’s correct spelling) saved my life with what he taught me. I didn’t stay sober that then but when the time came I knew what to do to stay sober because of him. Just celebrated 7.5 years. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. First off, its for 15-25 year old patients and since it's an inpatient treatment center they are asking for a lawsuit mixing minors in with adults being that patients share living quarters. I was closer to 25 than 15 at the time and was trying to initially check into the Center City location, and continued to try to transfer because the policies and staff interact with the patients as if they're all 15 years of age. Hazelden is very money hungry and many of the other patients there were on their 5th, 6th, 7th, or more stints in treatment. They love repeat customers. Sadly, many of the patients had spent over half of their life after age 15 in treatment. One of the counselors was fired while I was there for repeatedly breaching the doctor/patient confidentiality policy/law. I ended up leaving early because it wasn't court ordered and the program was more frustrating and demeaning than helpful and supportive. It was late fall and they kept me there all day until dusk, and when they finally let me leave with my phone and belongings that they had locked away, my phone was dead and it was getting dangerously cold out. They refused to let me charge my phone and i had a very long walk in the dark on the side of the highway until I found a local business to charge my phone to call for a ride. Horrible, dangerous and incredibly unprofessional establishment.
