Amazing experience today. The person who helped me not only did a wonderful job with suggestions, she was so kind to my son who had to come with. He had a blast trying on “his own glasses” while we finished up. Such a welcoming experience.

I left this Warby Parker location incredibly frustrated and disappointed by the lack of customer service.
I came in with a very simple request: I wanted a copy of the prescription that Warby Parker had previously used to make my glasses. The prescription originally came from LensCrafters, but I had provided it to Warby Parker when purchasing my glasses there. Instead of receiving any meaningful help, I was told by the associate that it was “illegal” for her to provide me with a copy.
If there is a legitimate company policy or records-retention issue preventing Warby Parker from providing it, that should have been clearly explained. Instead, I was given a sweeping legal explanation with seemingly very little effort to verify whether it was actually correct, look into my account, involve a manager, or offer me another way to obtain the information.
What made the experience even more disappointing was that the other associates were standing nearby and appeared completely uninterested in helping resolve the situation. No one stepped in, offered another solution, or seemed particularly concerned that a customer was leaving frustrated. There was plenty of staff present, but virtually no initiative or customer service.
I wasn’t asking for anything complicated—I was trying to access information related to glasses I had purchased through Warby Parker. Even if the answer ultimately had to be “we no longer have that record,” there are about a dozen more professional and helpful ways this interaction could have been handled.
For a company that has built its brand around making eyewear simple and customer-friendly, this experience was the complete opposite. The lack of knowledge, problem-solving, and basic willingness to help was extremely disappointing.
Edit: Customer service had no issue providing me with my prescription. This would make a great learning opportunity for staff.

I had a great experience. I’ve always liked Warby Parker’s selection and styles, so when I found out they do exams and take my insurance, I was very excited. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the exam was quick. I saw the dr on zoom in the exam room. He was very friendly and took the time to explain everything. I highly recommend !

The frame selection is fine, but the experience getting an eye exam was terrible. I agreed to the virtual provider option expecting a real person on the other end, but instead they started the A/B test portion with an AI script asking me which was better. It was very slow to respond and frustrating to work with. I felt like I was an unpaid guinea pig helping to train the AI to replace optometrists.
After that AI nonsense, there was indeed a virtual optometrist on an iPad who attempted to find an actual prescription for me. This was also a frustrating experience that ended up with him showing the new prescription compared to my old one (from 7+ years ago) to show me how much better the new one was. It was actually worse than my old one. We tried a few more times and I never felt like we actually got a better prescription than my old one, so I'm not actually going to use the prescription they gave me. I'm just going to go somewhere else instead.
