This studio is well-kept and convenient. Very clean and orderly. I am especially glad that Patrick has taken his Friday night yoga here after the Uptown studio closed. Along with about 10 others, I followed him from Uptown to Apple Valley for this class and drive down every week. Patrick is an incredible, dedicated teacher — nobody else teaches the Bikram-style Hot Yoga sequence with as much discipline and detail as he does. I see a recent review criticizing this approach. While I recognize that strictness isn't what everyone wants out of yoga, I am very glad to have this option, because it improves my postures and respect for the sequence. If people prefer a slightly more relaxed Hot Yoga sequence, there are other Hot Yoga classes at this location and others.

I was also in this 7pm Hot Yoga class with Patrick on March 6, and my experience with Patrick and the overall situation was very different. Patrick is a seasoned, authentic teacher who clearly cares about his students and their growth. His classes are intentionally challenging, but in a constructive way. He offers hands-on and verbal corrections to help people improve their form and deepen their practice safely. That kind of attention may feel more direct at times, but it comes from a place of professionalism and genuine investment in his students. It is also important to understand that CorePower Yoga is quite lenient compared to many other hot yoga studios. Basic etiquette such as no phone use during class, silence, limiting movement in and out of the room, and maintaining a focused environment is standard across essentially all yoga practices, especially in a heated room where safety and concentration matter. These expectations are clearly communicated in multiple places at CorePower, but they are also fundamental to yoga as a discipline. During this class, there was noticeable disruption, including talking during postures, multiple exits and re-entries, and phone use. Those behaviors are not considered acceptable in any yoga studio or brand. They break concentration for everyone in the room and can create safety concerns in a hot environment. From what I observed, Patrick addressed the phone situation to maintain the integrity of the class for everyone. It was not about singling anyone out. It was about reinforcing a standard that applies to all students. In a group setting, instructors sometimes need to address things quickly and clearly to prevent further disruption. I understand that the experience may have felt uncomfortable, especially for a first class, but that does not reflect a lack of care or professionalism on Patrick’s part. Quite the opposite. He runs a structured, focused class that helps people progress. If you are looking for a teacher who is kind, experienced, and truly committed to helping you get better at yoga, not just get through a class, Patrick is exactly that.

I wanted to like it because everyone was very nice and there are a ton of class options, but I am not interested in hot yoga. You can’t rely on a class that is supposed to be unheated (per the class description) to actually be unheated (like, maybe upper 70’s at warmest). I went to a CP1 class last Friday and the room was 93 degrees (visible on the thermometer) with heat blowing out of the vents. I am glad I realized this during my free week. If you’re unsure whether this studio is a good fit for you do the free week and maybe start with class packs before committing.
