I rarely leave reviews like this, but my interaction with the management at this studio was so disappointing that I feel it's worth sharing.
I was a member here several years ago and absolutely loved it. I recently returned for a one-month Flex membership and paid around $300. Unfortunately, between the long waitlists and this experience with management, rejoining became more trouble than it was worth.
When I signed up, I was told that I had one courtesy cancellation and could switch class times with the same instructor without penalty. I had a cancellation that didn't go through, which I noticed 11 hours before the class started (policy is 12 hours) and contacted the studio immediately about using my courtesy, additionally informing them of the system error and mentioning I was sick. The staff member approved the waiver and texted me afterward confirming it was noted on my account.
The next day, the waiver was revoked by Trish.
I was initially told the reason was because I had already used my courtesy on a class that I had switched timings for with the same instructor a few weeks back. When I explained that the front desk had approved that switch with no penalty (as their policy says), the reasoning changed to cancellations that were waived during my membership several YEARS ago.
At that point, I decided to call the studio to properly understand what the issue was. I wasn't demanding a fee be waived or asking anyone to bend a policy, I simply wanted to learn where the miscommunication was that resulted in conflicting policies being told to me.
I spoke with Jen, and the way she handled such a basic question was completely unnecessary. She repeatedly spoke over me, became overly defensive, and started to raise her voice when I kindly tried to clarify the confusion. When I asked whether a courtesy cancellation was included with my new membership, she repeatedly ignored my question and eventually responded with: “You know it’s included. I don’t have to tell you.”
She then proceeded to name a manager who worked there when I was previously a member, told me that manager had been “too nice to me,” and said she was “partially let go because of her accommodations.” She then hung up on me before I could respond.
This interaction left me speechless. I felt like I was being disciplined for actions that previous management took several years ago during an old membership and time period when I was dealing with extenuating circumstances. Why a former employee's termination was being discussed with me, or somehow connected to a simple question about my current membership, is beyond me.
People come to Pilates with different bodies, circumstances, injuries, and health concerns. Members are making an effort, and often a significant financial investment, to prioritize their health. I understand that studios need policies, but there is a difference between enforcing a policy and losing basic empathy and respect for the people those policies affect.

I went to their Intro Class yesterday, and was very impressed with their organization, cleanliness and friendliness. I had Amber, one of their instructors, for the half hour and she was so knowledgeable, friendly, and kind, I decided to try a 3 month membership! Jen at the front desk was great too. They both were very helpful! Come try them out!

We had a big misunderstanding with the workers and we couldn’t end up going to Pilates but they told us the day of which is really rude and unprofessional because they called and texted for a week and could’ve let us know beforehand. Manager is also very rude not understanding at all and workers need to know the rules so they don’t lie to other people like how they lied to us.

Club Pilates Troy is a wonderful studio with experienced and friendly instructors. I love their cardio and circuit courses. They always keep the classes fresh so I never get bored and they always encourage me to push myself. The studio is always clean and the machines are in good condition. I highly recommend trying this branch if you are interested in trying pilates.
