Came in during a week day and asked if they took VSP insurance. They told me they do. The appointment went just fine. When I picked out a pair of glasses, I was quoted a charge of over $300. I asked if they could change some options on the lenses to make the price lower, they did, and it decreased to $150. I picked out a cheaper frame, they still quoted me about the same amount. I know that my insurance covers up to $200 on frames and that the lenses are supposed to be free with the frame. I went to eyemart express next week and was able to get 2 pairs of glasses (one designer frame and one budget frame) for $40. I figure that lenscrafters does not actually take VSP insurance. I am disappointed that the employees that helped me that day were not transparent with me. I understand that they are just trying to make money, but I simply cannot afford $300 for glasses. I pay for the more expensive vision insurance through my employer for a reason.

The best eye doctor! I have not been able to wear contacts for years. I am now wearing contacts and can see better than I have in over 10 years! This place all around is wonderful from the time you walk in the door until the time you leave.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
