A little confusing as a VA patient. We are authorized urgent care for accute illnesses but when I came the clerk told me there were only emergency services available even though I had been directed by the VA to come there. I would have liked for the MSA to have asked other staff for clarification but they were adamant that they only had emergent care. I did end up being seen in a timely manner though so I did much appreciate that. I encourage MSAs to be trained on VA community care coverage and accepted.

My husband has diverticulitis and about once a year or so he comes down with an infection, which is serious and if treated promptly with antibiotics is very manageable as an outpatient treatment. In the past there was never a problem with dr. Allen or Liscow calling in a prescription and then following up with him if needed. Not now. 12 min wait time to speak with someone, no call back after repeated calls and when I went into the office I was told the they wouldn't phone in a rx that he had to be seen but they couldn't fit him in so, just go to the emergency room. Are you freekin kidding me! Here we are in the middle of another surge of covid and you want to encourage someone to go to the emergency room! Then they made us feel like it was our fault because we hadn't made an appointment to "meet" the new doctor. Why would you spend more money at the doctor for a meet and great appointment when they have your whole medical history at their fingertips! So now my husband has to go to a walk in clinic and he's two days into a colon infection. Very poorly handled.

I would never recommend anyone use these providers. When I called to schedule an appointment, I asked if the practice accepted Medicaid. The secretary responded that yes, they accepted Medicaid. When I went in to their office for my appointment, they took my Medicaid cards and said everything looked good. I went in for my appointment. Right off the bat, the nurse made me feel rushed saying that the nurse practitioner I’d be seeing wanted to get to lunch. When she came in, she was hurried and curt, giving me little time to explain the issue I was experiencing. She DID NOT examine me, DID NOT run any tests. I have no idea why she thought it was appropriate to prescribe anything to me after no examination, but ended up giving me an obscene course length of a medicine that, after just one week, I discontinued use of due to a wiser and more helpful practitioner’s advice (she actually examined me and said that prescription had likely worsened my condition). The FNP spoke down to me and made me feel absolutely insignificant when compared to her impending lunch break. When I went to exit, the real kicker came: the secretary informed me their practice DID NOT accept my form of Medicaid. How, after having my insurance cards, did they not inform me of that sooner? I would never have seen such a horrid, guilt incurring, rude, inefficient, clueless, and ignorant provider, let alone PAY TO SEE HER. The secretary told me she would, “See what they could do” about the payment. Three months later? I receive a bill. Absolutely the worst practice I have ever been to. Unprofessional and mindless. DO NOT SEE THESE PROVIDERS.
