  This review is not a reflection of Talia—she is a sweet and capable hygienist. My issues are with the office staff, specifically Joy, whose handling of our situation was incompetent and unprofessional. TL;DR: My first two visits were routine and uneventful, aside from the fact that I never actually met the dentist. It took a year and a half of being a patient before I had an exam performed by Dr. McRee. I thought that was odd, but since I wasn't having any dental issues, I didn't make a big deal out of it. Dr. McRee seemed likeable enough, and this review is not a reflection of his clinical work because the only thing he ever did was look in my mouth for about two minutes during a single exam. My billing was always straightforward since my Aetna dental plan covers routine and preventive care at 100%, and Dr. McRee was in-network. The real issues started when I brought the rest of my family to the office. After their exams, we received a bill in the mail. As I mentioned, we've had the same Aetna dental plan for 12 years, and routine preventive care has always been fully covered. The office claimed we still owed a balance after insurance paid. We tried contacting the office, but they were extremely difficult to reach. They rarely answered the phone, and voicemails often took days to be returned—if they were returned at all. They told us to contact our insurance company to find out why there was a remaining balance. After speaking with Aetna, they explained that the dental office had submitted one of my son's exams with an incorrect billing code and had failed to identify him as a new patient. (They also misspelled his name.) Aetna told us to notify the office so they could work directly with them to correct the error. When I informed Joy of the billing mistake, she immediately became defensive and refused to acknowledge or take responsibility for the error. Rather than contacting the insurance company to resolve what Aetna described as a clerical mistake, she told me I needed to pay the balance or she would begin the process of taking me to small claims court—over $25. That is some of the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced from a medical office. Needless to say, they lost four patients because of Joy's incompetence and rudeness. Talia was wonderful, but based on our experience with the office staff, I would avoid this dental practice.

  Excellent practice. Great people, good care, and the costs are very reasonable. I switched to this practice when my previous dentist stopped accepting insurance. I liked my previous dentist, so I was a little apprehensive about the change. I shouldn't have worried. Dr. McRee and his staff have been just great. Absolutely recommended.
