I've like all of the providers I've seen at Allergy & Asthma Associates of Michigan, but today was a bit different. Hassan's positive vibe was uplifting and immediately boosted my energy as soon as he walked in the room. I've been recommending this location to friends and family for years, and that definitely won't change. Just wanted to acknowledge today's visit was exceptional.
Today was my second scheduled appointment.i saw one of the physicians about one year ago. He was a pleasant man.
I received a number of appointment reminders prior to today’s appointment as well as a lengthy voice mail to remind me of the appointment, request confirmation and advise of late cancellation fees.i arrived on time today, left a sick husband so as to keep my commitment, and was left waiting for 40 minutes before I decided to leave. The receptionist ( whom I assume wasn’t trained to apologize on behalf of the doctors or mention that the doctor( s) was running late), never mentioned their tardiness or offered any explanation for my waiting so long. She should not be blamed as this, apparently, is simply a reflection of the culture of this practice. I can’t imagine appearing 40 minutes late— with any expectation that I would be seen by the doctor—- and, further, I can’t imagine running more than 5 or 10 minutes late without pulling over and phoning. There is an intrinsic lack of respect for the patient reflected in this. Anyone can run late and anyone should be able to offer an explanation or apology for this. One is left thinking, of course, that the practice isn’t so much about the patient but, unfortunately, more about profit.
How utterly disappointing.

Suffering with allergies is the worst, but the doctors and staff here have been phenomenal. Currently going through allergy shots and I had some questions regarding billing. I gave the billing department a call and Bianca assisted me. She was fantastic! She answered all of my questions, explained how my insurance was processing the visits, and was extremely attentive and knowledgeable whenever I needed something explained. She also put in the time to make sure everything was aligned with my insurance provider. Thank you all for the amazing work you do, and thank you Bianca for being wonderful!
Dr. B is an extremely knowledgeable doctor whom I’ve been working with for many years. He is not only an excellent physician but also a very kind human. He truly takes the time to listen to your concerns. Five years ago, I started receiving allergy shots from him, and today, I am pretty much free of allergies. I am incredibly grateful to have him as a part of my care team.
Dr. Tawila and Bianca, one of the insurance and billing specialists, are two of the most exceptional providers I've ever seen in my 31 years of continuous care for chronic conditions. Bianca goes above and beyond the standard of care with empathy and kindness to advocate for us patients. She's recently taken a lot of time to help me navigate a nightmare situation with my health insurance - as many of us are especially lately. I feel relieved that because of her efforts, I will continue to get the care I need from Dr. Tawila and every other practitioner at this office who's been quite kind and helpful to me for about 10 years - and especially the past year for more frequent care needs. Dr. Tawila is always intentional with the time and consideration he gives to me as his patient each visit. Most doctors rush their patients through appointments due to an unsustainable caseload that neglects the patients well-being and the purpose of healthcare - but Dr. Tawila handles it all with grace and empathy. I don't make recommendations lightly, especially in terms of healthcare, so this is just to boost the reputations of genuinely great providers and to give people seeking care some reassurance ☺️
