  When we had dr tiesma I gave them a 5 star…. He left and now I have to do a new review because the care we got from Dr. Post was less than satisfactory. Every concern I had was dismissed. She doesn't follow current developmental guidelines. If you have any concerns about your child’s speech and take your child here PLEASE trust your gut & reach out to early on. Dr. Post believes that a 24 month old saying 0-1 phrase and 20-22 words is normal. NO guideline states that milestone. When asked for a source I couldn’t get one. I had early come and told me he was pretty behind on speech so when she said that she is talking like she doesn’t believe the speech therapist. I asked for a second opinion from another DR at the office and also couldn’t receive one. She has never filled out an ASQ for development. She has never asked to see the ASQs I fill out with Parents as Teachers. The questions she would ask about development were limited and outdated. When I brought up concerns about fine motor because he scored lower on ASQ she asked if he could flip a little people figure over…. He can. But fine motor is much more than that and that’s not even an example that they look for. I brought up concerns about my son being so small in weight. Especially, since we have a family history of growth problems and also communicated that he is a picky eater. Instead of offering advice I was told he’s following he’s curve he’s fine and to not let him snack. Toddlers are literally known for grazing throughout the day and I will not deny my child food if he’s hungry. No I don’t let him have junk all day but I’m not going to not give him snacks either. I asked about pedisure for days he doesn’t want to eat much-wic would cover it with a dr slip too. She refused because of the sugar contents. I’m sorry- but sugar is the least of my concerns when my child needs calories and nutrients! There is only 5g per bottle. He would only be having 1 a day! I do limit his sugar consumption the best I can. I highly doubt he’d had gone past the recommended 25g or whatever. When I declined the flu shot as I signed the waiver refusing. When Dr. Post came in she told me my son would end up in ICU if he gets the flu due to his asthma. I find the wording on that very strange. Giving me the risks of denying is one thing, but she purposely worded that as a scare tactic to try and scare me into a vaccination I’m not comfortable with. When I brought my concerns to the office Dr. Post stood on what she said. The office never tried to mend the situation. Nothing. I wish they would’ve let me try another dr but I couldn’t even ask for a second opinion! I never thought I’d leave brookville. I also went there when I was a baby. It wasn’t an easy choice to leave this office, but I cannot have my concerns as a parent dismissed & I cannot send my child to an office that doesn’t follow current recommendations. If I didn’t have a background in early childhood I’d never taken it upon myself to get my son evaluated by early on because Dr. Post was telling me he was fine. again I couldn’t get any answer to where they source their milestone guidelines. It felt like she was never in office, almost whenever I’d send a message thru the portal I was told she wasn’t there. Or she was and just hadn’t got to me yet. I’d have conversations marked inactive because of how long she would take to get back to me. I never expected responses right away but at least don’t ignore me/mark a conversation inactive. There was also times where I’d ask a question and the MA would respond with an answer which would be fine but they’re spewing out information without looking at my child’s chart. When we had Dr. Tiesma it was different. Another situation that we are still dealing with is asthma. When my son first got his cough I brought him in and was told it was allergies it wasn’t. Month later he fell and went to ER. Finally we got an answer. But the treatment offered by dr post isn’t working adequately, and she won’t change the treatment plan or come up with any ideas to help us. Do NOT send your child here.
