- SJSandra Jewell4 days ago5.0Awesome experience with the delivery of my new Trivel tricycle! Aly walked me threw the different settings for the seat, handlebars, how to lock the bike so I can safety load & unload by myself! Showed me the direct drive and free wheel options, explained the differ difference. She explained how it can be driven from behind. And before she left she helped me strap my cane to my mobility scooter! Great experience all around. Aly made sure I could safely and comfortably ride my new trike!
- MMMax MaschewskeMay 19, 20261.0Less than impressed with the technicians. I ordered several parts for my manual wheelchair that needed to be replaced. When the parts were installed the tech forgot to put some of the new parts on and wanted to just send me home with them in the box. (If I wanted to install myself I would have ordered online). The tech did take the chair back to install the forgotten parts and adjust the brakes (which weren't adjusted the first round). Part of the process required installing new tubes and tires, yesterday (only a few weeks after the service) I noticed what looked like the tube pinched in the rim and tire. Today a flat tire. Prior to this I had gone 4 years on the same tires and tubes, zero flats. Needless to say the quality of service was poor.

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
