The frequency of Pap smear tests may vary depending on your age, medical history, and other risk factors. Generally, women between the ages of 21 and 29 are recommended to have a Pap smear every three years. Women between the ages of 30 and 65 should have a Pap smear every three to five years. However, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that women aged 65 and older who have had regular screenings and no abnormal Pap smears in the last 10 years may stop routine Pap testing. It’s important to discuss your personal health history and individual risk factors with your healthcare provider to determine how often you should receive Pap smear tests.
