Andrew has serviced my wheelchair twice. He is always friendly, prompt, and able to fix everything I needed. He asks questions and fixed my brake that I didn’t even know needed adjusting. It feels like we have known him for longer than 2 visits. Great customer service!

Andrew is always professional, knowledgeable, and hard working. He greets our daughter with a smile and gets to work on her power wheel chair. It’s nice to see a consistent person with National Seating come into our home. He is one of the reasons we choose National Seating again and again! Thanks Andrew!

Andrew has always been very helpful and on time. Especially with this current wheelchair that has never preformed as it should, we have never had so many problems with a power chair like this one. Its junk, and Andrew has always helped to keep it working for us.

My father has been in a power chair since 2005. When he started having National Seating and Mobilty servicing and qualifying him for new chairs, his quality of living greatly improved. With Technicians like Peyton and Andrew who service and repaired his chairs, have kept my dad Keith Missinne active and and a part of the community of Roscommon. All of your staff in the chain providing contact in the process, reception, billing, scheduling, step process to keep him advised by text, all give him and me the warm fuzzy's and confidence that you keep him mobile. We couldn't imagine a better business model. Thank you to all at NSM.

The two technicians, Andrew and Gary, who delivered and set up the Cubby beds were fantastic. They were friendly, efficient, and very professional throughout the entire process. They were careful bringing everything into the house and made sure nothing was damaged, which I really appreciated. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable with how everything worked before leaving. Very down-to-earth and easy to talk to—overall a great experience.
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
