I rented a battery-powered scooter for my 93-year old father, who was visiting from NC, and he couldn’t have been happier using it during his visit. I loved that you could easily take it apart and fit it in the back of your car to go places with it. This is the only place in southern Maine that I know of that rents battery-powered scooters, and I was so pleased to find 101 Mobility. The battery held the charge very well, and the scooter was easy for my Dad to operate. Shout out Lorraine at 101 Mobility, who is incredibly knowledgeable, nice, and professional. She showed us step by step how to disassemble the scooter, and made sure we were comfortable with reassembling it before we drove off with it.

Great tecnician (Dave), very efficient, knowledgable and professional. Cost of $ 247.00 for an hour of work and a 5 cent fuse was a bit extreme. Happy to have the lift chair working gain.

Unfortunately my experience was not all favorable. I have a 92 year old mother that needs help getting around. We have been lifting her from the wheelchair to the toilet, but can no longer tug on her due to back issues. So time was critical in getting a ceiling track installed. Lorraine was very helpful and sent Nick up to get an estimate. (June 29th) Nick was very pleasant and helpful. We are 3 hours north of Scarborough, so it was quite a commute. I touched base with Lorraine several days later and again, she was very pleasant. She explained that she had to order parts and it would be several weeks and then would schedule the installation. I checked in with Lorraine weekly. Parts still not available. After several phone calls with the sending company, parts were sent overnight delivery at my request and expense. Schedule was made to have it installed July 30th.
Two men came and were on time, however, one gentleman came in with an attitude. The other was very polite and kind. Showing them where the bathroom was his first response was stating the ceiling light was supposed to come down. I told him I had an electrician come and look at it and said there were two bolts to unscrew if it needed to come down. Again, body language and attitude. He then pulled down the ceiling stairs and stood on the first rung. As he swore, he said there was no way he was going up. I offered a ladder and he said he had is own. He left and went to his van while the pleasant man ask where he could set up the track pieces. I told him the table would be fine. They worked for 2 hours and got it all installed. They showed me the features of the motor and lift and answered a few questions. They explained how to hook up the sling, but did not physically show me where the sling needs to be placed on the spine, how straight the person needs to be, and actually show how the pants are removed. Learning about the track and motor was easy. The learning curve was the sling itself and how it needs to be on/around the person. The first three attempts were HORRIBLE. My mother was extremely scared and could not stop crying. We had watched numerous videos prior to this, but again, never explaining the little things we should have been made aware of. So on our own, we are slowly learning how to make this better and safer for my mother.
This was a very expensive purchase. Traveling to Lincoln twice was approximately 1,000. The money is not what bothers me, but rather, how one person was extremely rude and seemed uncaring. For future instillations, I would suggest having someone who is able to actually show and let people practice before they leave.
I am very grateful for the positive aspects of this purchase and hopefully it will get easier for us and not as scary for my mother.

You probably won't share this. Had u here for service call and was charged 100.00 for travel which was not relayed to me beforehand. No vet discounts and wouldn't accept 50.00 coupon. Overall bad experience as the unit is still not charging properly.
