- JVJulio VegaAug 8, 20265.0I recently had the opportunity to tour the Old Town-Orono YMCA and meet with the staff leadership team and Board of Directors. As someone who has visited many YMCAs across the country, it is always inspiring to see the unique ways each YMCA serves its community, and the Old Town-Orono YMCA is no exception. What stood out to me most was the passion, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by both the Board and staff. Their enthusiasm for the YMCA mission and their genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of their members and the broader community was evident in every conversation. The YMCA plays a vital role in bringing people together, strengthening families, and creating opportunities for individuals of all ages to learn, grow, and thrive. It was encouraging to hear about the programs, services, and community partnerships that are making a difference throughout the region. The Old Town-Orono YMCA is clearly driven by a strong sense of purpose and community service. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and left inspired by the work being done every day to support and strengthen the community. A wonderful YMCA with an outstanding team of leaders, staff, and volunteers. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

- KDKristy DanielsonMay 7, 20261.0The firing of Mikayla is devastating, she has built the OTO YMCA Cheer program into what it is today. Without her, it will suffer and so will the children who participate. There is sure to be a mass exodus now. As a community member and grandmother of children, that not only attend the Y but also participate in the cheer program, I'm puzzled by the decision making in the last few years of upper management at the OTO YMCA. Disappointing at the least.
