I visited this Safeway last night 04/21/2026 just after 9pm — the store is open until 11pm. The deli side store entranceway was locked via the exterior, and the interior entranceway on the produce side of the store was locked as well. As a result, those trying to shop were forced to enter via the exit door on the produce side of the store. Then walk the full length of the store along the newly installed fencing, past the checkouts and down to the gate by the Deli side entrance of the store to be able to gain access. While I am an able bodied person, and the extra walking does not bother me, it would prevent older or handicapped customers from reasonably accessing the store. Forcing the disabled or elderly to walk the full length of the store (an extra 200 feet) unnecessarily is ableist and a clear indication that a bare-bones staff intend to make shopping difficult for those who visit the store in the evening; in the hopes that they will turn away and not shop. Keep in mind this is two hours before the store closes. Management of this store must have a conversation with all closing employees and make sure that all entranceways are available and open to the public until the store is getting ready to close. There is no excuse for clear intentional understaffing leading to lack of access for those who are disabled, elderly, or otherwise not able bodied. When exiting the store, Shopping carts were scattered about the entire parking lot, so I took the time to group them into the cart collection areas to assist what appeared to be only two employees working in the entire store. Do so much better, Safeway. Looking at you Corporate Managers…

Worst grocery store in the area, everyone is not a thief stop standing over people and blocking the damn exit.

I've been filling my prescriptions there for many years. The staff is very helpful and seems to be little turnover.

I made an appointment on the website, but they had no record of it when I arrived. Had to complete the vaccination questionnaire all over again.
