- COCarla OrtizJun 17, 20265.0My daughter's backbrest to her wheelchair was completely broken. Lydia immediately worked to help me get her chair fixed and she got Jee scheduled with John to assist with the repair. When we arrived in Owings Mills, John was waiting for us and very eager to access and help get her chair in proper working condition. He took his time, evaluated the issue meticulously and came up with a solution that would get Jee all fixed up. He was kind and compassionate. He worked diligently with her in the chair and he had a pad to place in back of her for comfort while he was repairing the backrest. After he successfully repaired her chair, he did a thorough evaluation of other repairs needed. We were comfortable, felt seen and heard and Jee was able to leave there with a chair that was safe and comfortable. John and Lydia went above and beyond to make sure that Jee's chair was in proper working condition. The communication, care and dedicated attention from the staff at Owings Mills is always exceptional and very much appreciated! They are a top notch team and I am grateful for their care and consideration no matter what issue we are dealing with! Carla Ortiz

From the first interaction with the sales representative the service with National Seating & Mobility has been exceptional!!! At the rehab center the sales representative patiently and expertly explained to my son what to do and how to operate the electric wheelchair and worked with him to select the details for his customized wheelchair - including getting it in his favorite color! 😍 When we needed to have the loaner chair adjusted, we simply called and NS&M sent Shelton to our aide. Shelton is amazing! Patient, courteous, knowledgeable, professional and simply the best!! He also came to set up my son's chair when it was ready and picked up the loaner chair at the same time. This is my first experience navigating the world of the physically challenged and working with NS&M has made this part of the journey sooooo easy, sooo stress free!! They also accept Medicaid!!! I HIGHLY recommend NS&M for your needs! You will not regret it!!!! 6/9/26 UPDATE!! While the sales and delivery service was excellent....the follow-up to get repairs or adjustments- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! The Owings Mills office NEVER calls back regardless of how many messages you leave them! The wait time for the call to be answered at the ONLY number they have listed is beyond ridiculous 🙄 I hung up after holding for 47 minutes!!!!!!! Now I wish that I could find somewhere else to get my son's chair adjusted because NS&M's customer service is horrible horrible horrible! The wheelchair is now causing my son more pain and discomfort than the impact of his TBI! I highly recommend looking hard for somewhere else! The rehab facility provided his chair thru NS&M - we did not select them. My happiness has turned to sorrow and complete disappointment with NS&M.😢🥺😢 Changing rating to 1 star only because the system does not allow leaving a Zero star rating.
- RSRick SlaughterAug 27, 20251.0I called and told NSM I was paying cash for casters and bolts for my chair. Simple huh? Not at all. They ordered the casters, but not the bolts. Then they said call back, ask for remote, and they can order the bolts. I called, left my number, and they NEVER CALLED ME BACK. What theHELL is wrong with this company? They do not listen, and don't know the meaning of customer service. I used to be in this line of work....how hard it is to call wc customer service, give them my serial number, and order the parts??? SERIOUSLY??? Come on guys.....u know this is not right

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
