I am extremely disappointed with our experience at this ER. I brought my daughter in after she suffered mouth/facial trauma. She was actively bleeding from her mouth/face and was extremely sleepy, which made us concerned that she could have a concussion.
We waited approximately 4 hours without her being properly triaged or taken back. We finally decided to leave, but as we were walking out, the receptionist told us we were next, so we stayed.
A nurse came out and told us she would be back for us in “2 minutes.” About 15 minutes later, she returned and took my daughter back. She took her weight and blood pressure and then placed us in a room. That was it.
What made the situation even more frustrating was that once we got to the treatment area, it was nearly empty. We saw only two other patients, one of whom was leaving, while several staff members were gathered around the desk talking. We then sat in the room for another hour and a half without anyone checking on my daughter. No nurse came back. No provider evaluated her. We never saw a doctor.
I eventually left and took my daughter to urgent care because she needed to actually be evaluated.
What is probably the most disturbing part of this entire experience is that approximately 7 hours after we had already left the ER, I received a text saying my daughter had been discharged. Apparently, no one even realized that we had left. How does a pediatric patient come into an emergency room with active facial bleeding and possible concussion symptoms, sit in a treatment room without being evaluated, leave the hospital, and no one notices for HOURS?
I completely understand that emergency rooms get busy and that patients are seen based on severity. My issue isn’t simply that we had to wait. My issue is the lack of assessment, communication, monitoring, and basic concern for my daughter’s condition.
This experience was unacceptable, and I sincerely hope hospital administration reviews what happened, including the timeline of our arrival, triage, placement in the room, departure, and why my daughter remained in their system for hours after we were gone.

Muy mala experiencia la sala de espera es súper lenta espera de más de 3 horas y al final nos tuvimos que ir a otro hospital porque nunca nos atendieron y mi hijo necesitaba atención médica

By far my best experience in an emergency department. I went here in severe tooth pain, crying and feeling hopeless. I was in/out in about 1hr and The pain is about gone! The staff was outstanding.

After 4+ hours of the worst pain I’ve ever experienced, throwing up in the lobby, having diarrhea literally uncontrollably in the lobby, I still sat for 4 hours. The first IV placed immediately blew the vein, I should’ve known what I was about to face, she still kept it in despite the pain. I shared every single symptom she summed it up to “vomiting” .. I was pumped full of Morphine and Potassium despite how PAINFUL the potassium was to be injected, my vein was rejecting the bags, I was NEVER hooked up to a heart monitor. Nothing. I should’ve died in that hospital due to their negligence, with no diagnosis and still in excruciating pain they sent me home within 24 hours of my arrival. Not even 24 hours later I wasn’t to Howard General diagnosed with the WORST infection, appendicitis, low potassium, an IRREGULAR HEART RHYTHM. I had to have emergency procedures which were overly complicated and invasive due to Laurels negligence, and the infection was so bad they couldn’t remove the appendix, so now I have to have an additional surgery to remove the appendix, I had a drain in. All could’ve been avoided had Laurel known what they were doing. They told me my appendix looked fine and “no irregularities were found” .. I literally LITERALLY could’ve and should have died, it was by the grace of God I didn’t. Don’t ever go here. I wouldn’t even recommend this hospital to the devil himself.
