Loved this practice until the University of MD system took over. When I tried to get my daughter's records transferred over (they were no longer in a convenient location for us) I tried calling. The medical records voice mail WAS FULL, so I couldn't leave a message. I tried acting like I was making an appointment, but the call center put me on hold immediately without waiting for a response and after 5 minutes it would ring and then hang up. This happened every single time I called for over 30 minutes. It got to the point where someone would pick up and I would start saying NO NO NO NO to get them to pause, but they wouldn't wait. I tried to send a message on MyChart, but my daughter didn't have an account with them yet and was required to call to set it up (clearly we know how well that was working out). I tried to find a fax number, but couldn't very easily. Finally sent a long letter to them via fax complaining about this process and the fact that I was being denied care (ie-if I couldn't get through to a live person, what if I needed to get my sick child in to see someone) and access to her records. NO ONE responded.
That day my husband drove to the office where they gave exactly zero effs about the situation (and just wrote it off because they use a call center and took no accountability for it), gave him the form we needed to fill out, and confirmed that the fax number I found was correct and said it would take THIRTY days to get the records.... THIRTY DAYS?!?!? Either way, we get the paperwork filled out, I get it faxed to them and have a confirmed receipt that it was transmitted successfully. Submitted it 29 days before we needed it there (obviously it wasn't there in time) but in case you thought otherwise...3 months later and they still never got it.
I'm very disappointed. We used to love this practice, and while I understand the need to have a larger company take over, this was a huge mistake customer service-wise.
And please don't comment on this telling me to call... I've done that enough. You can pull the records from the office and reach out to me this time.

If you can find another pediatrician, ANY other pediatrician, go there. When it was not owned by the university it was a great practice. Now it’s horrible. You call for medication refills and no one answers or calls you back until you harass them, then they make you come in just to have a conversation you could’ve had on the phone. Ok, that’s fine, I understand. However this morning we had an appointment for our 6 month old. We called on the way letting them know we would be 10 minutes late, they said as long as you get here by 9:25 (appointment was scheduled for 9:15), they would see us. We were in the lobby by 9:24. My husband sat at the check in desk and waited and waited. One woman in the office was on the phone. Others were at the computer with their backs to us, and the main window was empty. The woman didn’t even return to speak to my husband until 9:30 and they told us they wouldn’t see us and we’d have to reschedule. The woman in line behind my husband agreed with us that it was absolutely ridiculous since she was waiting there for far too long as well, and acknowledged that we were there by 9:24. There have been NUMEROUS times that I’ve been early to my appointments and I’m made to wait 30 minutes to an hour just to be called to the back from the lobby. Absolutely ridiculous. We live 45 minutes away, I WFH and we don’t have child care so we all have to load up and go to bed able to manage an appointment. And they turn us away for being 9 minutes late after saying they would see us. I understand a late policy, I do. But if I have to be on the dot every single appointment, I expect not to ever be made to wait either. Truly hope they go out of business.

We’ve been going here almost 4 years. The transition to UM was a bit lackluster but the care was always top notch. We love all of the nurses and nurse practitioners!
Welp! Brought our 4 kids to this practice for many, many years and we were very happy for a long time. Then, they sold out to UM and now everything is completely different. Biggest issue is that we can’t get a same day visit any more, which is kind of important because we can’t anticipate our kids getting sick. It’s really difficult to speak to someone here now too. And they don’t call you back anymore either. In addition, they didn’t log a phone consultation we had (because we couldn’t get an Appt) which prevented us from getting a school excusal letter our child needed. Stay away. Find another provider, that’s our plan now.

NASTIEST FRONT DESK!
Lack of communication and talk to patients like trash. I have been coming here since I was 18 and this place has gone so far down hill. Staff need to remember patients call with concerns, having health issues, pain and they need to put on their best customer service face especially when the patient did nothing wrong but expect proper communication from their primary care staff. I will not come back and will be switching my family members from this horrid place after the conversation I just had!
