- AGAshton GSep 25, 20263.0I was recommended to this private ultrasound facility by my therapist and midwife, as they both had good things to say in regards to other home birth clients experiences. I had expected a much slower, gentle, personalized experience – but overall it was comparable to a standard medical ultrasound visit. I received 10 plus reminders/confirmations for the visit, which was a bit excessive in my opinion. The photos obtained were not as clear and photo worthy as I hoped, but I was told by the tech that I was too far along and her feet were hindering clear photos which was disappointing. The only thing that really took me back was the overly aggressive pushing on my abdomen in an attempt to move the baby during the viewing. I was happy to oblige with moving whichever direction was needed to get optimal photos, but the tech heavily pushed on my mid section without warning several times which not only was uncomfortable but just seemed a bit unnecessary. I was also told the baby was “chunky and big” which gave me instant anxiety, as it would most pregnant women. Sizing estimates are just that “estimates”. And word choice and professionalism is “everything” when speaking and working with expecting families. The mannerism and overall professionalism of my experience could use some improvement — but then again maybe it was just an off day. Because when I relayed these details to others, they assured me their experiences were much different.
