While the store itself is beautiful they have Terrible customer service- it was like we were inconveniencing them. I called in advance to go over my insurance and was given an estimate. When I arrived no other customers were in the store, and the staff member did not greet us or look up from their tablet. They asked “what are you here for” and I said eye exam and the staff pointed to the back reception desk hidden behind a partition. When we got in the exam room I asked how much it would cost and the price was $60 higher than quoted on the phone. When I asked why that staff member just kept repeating themselves that is what your insurance pays. Even after I showed a photo of my insurance web page because cell phones don’t work in this store. I asked her to double check. She explained some Lense crafters accept the full insurance and others don’t. As we were leaving I had the sense to ask - “there isn’t a charge for today?” And she said yes “$30 for missed appointment.” I replied we were here 15 minutes early this is not a missed appointment and I called in advance for an estimate. In the end we went to the Wheaton location (where we had gone in the past) and paid $60 less than the Gaithersburg store for the same exam.

I’ve never really enjoyed shopping for glasses. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was very young, and eye doctor visits and optical stores have always made me feel a little stressed. But my experience here was completely different! Everyone was so kind, cheerful, and helpful that I felt really comfortable taking my time and choosing the right frames. It honestly made the whole experience so much easier and more enjoyable. Now I can’t wait to get my beautiful new glasses! 😊

Came to the store for a basic contact lens fitting so I can refill my one year contact lenses supply in store. However, the front desk staff, Ingrid, told me that this location ONLY offers PREMIUM contact lens fittings, which means I have to pay double the price.
This made no sense at all! I showed her the distinction between basic and premium contact lens fittings (Premium lens fitting normally applies to multifocal, toric/astigmatism, gas-permeable, or scleral lense). And I explained to her that I always have spherical contact lens, I had previously received my eye exam at this same store and basic contact lens fitting at the North Bethesda LensCrafters. Despite this, she simply dismissed my concerns and insisted that every LensCrafters location is different and that this store ONLY offers premium fittings! She didn’t even bother to check with the doctor or the other staff.
Because of the distorted information and her lack of efforts to helping customer, i decided to cancel the appointment. Then, she even tried to charge me for late cancel fee!
I decided to work with another store who can offer basic contact lens fitting for me. I have filed a complaint with the Lenscrafter corporate. Please have batter training for the front desk staff!

I have always had a good experience going to this location. Dr. Donna Glenn is very knowledgeable and provides great care.
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
