  My daughter had an infected blister and when she woke up on Saturday it was clear that it had developed into an abscess. We could not get a visit at urgent care until 2PM. The reception staff and check was smooth and the facility was nice and not crowded but the nurse kept us waiting for over 40 minutes. Even the staff seemed annoyed with her lackadaisical pace. My daughter was in pain and her cellulitis was getting worse. As I came out of the room where we waited for the fourth time, I stood and watched the nurse staring at a computer screen eating a donut. One of the staff asked "may I help you" and when I said we still had not been seen she said, "oh my, I thought you were waiting for paperwork to leave." The challenge with seeing kids on a Saturday afternoon is that if they urgently need antibiotics, many of the local pharmacy's close. The nurse seemed not to care but fortunately I took the precaution of having antibiotics called ahead so I could pick them up before the visit. That was lucky. Waiting for the nurse was worse than useless. She did not care about the pace of her practice or the pain my daughter experienced, she did not drain the abscess, which was necessary (and I did later myself) and she delayed initiation of much needed antibiotics. That nurse just did not care. Urgent care in Easton serves a vital purpose but my family will never go there again as long as that nurse practitioner is working shifts. Sad to say, but Doc-in-a-Box provides superior care. Surely the University of Maryland can do better.

  In 2 seconds the doctor came in and looked in my ears and throat simply said I had allergies. I subsequently went to my doctor and the issue is being fully addressed I am on antibiotics and was prescribed medications for my symptoms.

  I had a very positive experience when I used the Easton facility while on vacation. The staff was very caring and knowledgeable. The NP who treated me, Shay, relieved my fears and gave me a prescription that really helped. I would go back here anytime I needed to when in the area.

  People were friendly. They lost my paperwork that was faxed twice. Had one nurse tell me I could pay my co pay when I finished filling out the rest of my paperwork but another nurse kept telling me I had to pay now ! And then got an attitude when I didn’t jump right then ! And I also got another patient’s paperwork stapled to my file ! So my question is who is responsible for the HIPIA violation ?

  The staff and doctors were amazing. They took care of me as I was suffering from bronchitis and an asthma attack. They treated me there, gave me prescriptions and told me to come back in 48 hrs if I didn’t get better. I made an appointment and went back to be treated again. Their kindness and care are wonderful. So glad I went. Thank you all so much. Mary Michaelides
