It is common knowledge in this community that this hospital is awful. People go here to die, not to recover. A couple weeks before Thanksgiving in '25, my elderly mother with Alzheimers fell in her assisted living community and broke her kneecap. She was admitted around midnight and I stayed with her until about ten the following morning, when she was finally given a room on 3. It was now Friday, so we couldn't talk to the Orthopedist until Monday, meaning Mom was spending the weekend. When she was admitted on Thursday night, she had slightly elevated white cell counts, and I advised the team that she has issues with recurring UTI. The team said they would treat her with antibiotics. Well... Mom went downhill all weekend. By Monday her mild UTI had progressed to her bladder, kidneys and bloodstream. Nurses didn't seem particularly concerned when my sister and I pointed out how delirious she was and how she was barely awake all day. I made it very clear to anyone who would listen that she was extremely far from her cognitive norm. They just assumed it was her Alzheimers and didn't really do anything. So, on Monday a competent doctor saw her and Mom got moved to the ICU with toxic shock and a blood infection and she's on a practical firehose of antibiotics; three of those IV drip machines running simultaneously. She very nearly died. Furthermore, when we admitted her to ICU, a nurse I will not name took me aside and quietly told me that she was certain that my mother NEVER received ANY antibiotics for the entire three day stay on floor 3. I never saw the machine hooked up (didn't understand what it was until I saw it actually working in ICU) and had assumed they were giving her injections or something. She stayed in that hospital for 3 WEEKS (6 days in ICU) instead of the 2-3 day stay that a broken knee should have been. They also misplaced her drivers license and my original copy of the guardianship paperwork I have for her when they took them away to be scanned. Not only were they lost, THEY NEVER EVEN MADE THE SCANS!!! I filed complaints and requested records to verify whether she did or did not receive receive the antibiotics over the weekend and nothing ever came of it. No records, no report on her stay, nothing. They never found her ID or my legal documents and let me tell you, it's a real problem now that we don't have them anymore. This hospital kills people. I grew up in this town and I've been hearing stories like this one for my entire life. Today, my Mom's Assisted Living community has a standing order to send her to Seaford instead of Easton. Apparently I'm not the first family member to make this request on behalf of their loved one. I recommend to anybody reading this review to NEVER take yourself or anyone you care about to that godawful hospital if you can avoid it. I hope they're hiring all new administrators for the new hospital because if they don't, all these very serious problems will just migrate over to Hog Neck. They need to clean house. EDIT: Yeah, thanks for responding or whatever. I already called that number, I've already filed everything I can with you people and you've ignored it all. Why would I expect anything different if I file the complaints again? I hope you all go bankrupt.

Please be aware and BELIEVE ! Don't come here! You will be forced to watch, sit, and wait while an entire room goes ahead of as you suffer with pneumonia and struggle to breath and cough up infectious phlegm.

It is great that you are sorry but something has to be done! This hospital service is horrible just horrible! They are overworked staff and no accountability! I cannot even imagine if you have a serious illness what would happen. Please Please do yourself a favor and not go! You will sit in the waiting room in pain for hours!
