My mom and I got three pairs of glasses. Two of them were sun glasses and one was for reading for me. We worked with Chynna; she was amazing and gave us so so much help like she came outside with us and held the door while we tried on different pairs in the sun, godsend!

We came Friday, May 29th for 5:15 and 5:30 eye exams, under Marcel. That side of the store, the 2 front desk staff and the eye dr were great. Very helpful and professional. Then we were sent to the frame side to look for glasses. That’s where it went downhill very fast. My husband had been there for a bit and had dealt with a female worker that got irritated with him for not knowing what the process was as this was our first time here. So she told him to go sit down. I heard her complaining to her 2 male coworkers that she hadn’t eaten all day and was leaving. So another lady eventually comes over to my husband and says can I help you. He tried to explain that he was sitting waiting for the lady because she told him to sit down. So she repeats louder and with attitude so can I help you. He was a little confused because he speaks French first and English second so he was trying to explain again he was doing what the lady said. Mind you this whole time I’m looking around and no one tries to assist me either. The other staff just stayed at the desk sitting down. I tried to explain to her what was happening and she rolled her eyes at me and her attitude was awful. Another lady had been there and looking around and she spoke up and asked if someone could help her as well.
We ended up leaving. We have very good insurance thru the county government. We were treated like poor people coming in off the street that they didn’t think could afford so why help. I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts since I was 9 so this isn’t my first time in an eyeglass store and I’ve frequented Bethesda Row since it was built and no business has ever treated us this way. I will never come to this location again.

Great team & leadership!! I came in for Dr appointment and to get new prescription sunglasses - all around great experience. Dr. Yap was great and Christina, the assistant manager, was super helpful. We had some trouble with the iPads while we were placing my order and we ended up waiting for a bit while it got figured out - no problem for me, I didn’t have any plans afterwards. Christina was so apologetic and fun to be around while we were trying to get this all sorted out. Would definitely come here again. :) thank you!!
Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
What is the difference between an eye exam and a vision screening?
A comprehensive eye exam is administered by an optometrist and can detect not only vision problems but problems with eye health and general health as well. A vision screening is typically performed by a general medical practitioner such as a pediatrician or a nurse. While a vision screening can help identify vision issues, it can miss many important issues that a comprehensive eye exam can identify. This is why everyone is encouraged to get annual eye exams. Schedule your eye exam today!
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
You should bring your vision insurance and medical insurance information to your eye exam. If you currently wear any prescription lenses, bring your eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. You should also bring any and all questions you may have. Contact your optometrist if you have specific questions about any additional items you think you may need to bring to your eye exam.
