I did not really have a good experience. The nurse and training person I worked with were very nice and supportive, but the doctor was maybe in the room for 2 minutes and did not really evaluate me - I got the impression he didn’t care about me. After he left, I had to plead with the nurse drawing my blood to run more tests and to take me seriously. I was told that the bloodwork would take 1-3 days - on day 3, I called to check in and I was told the bloodwork turn around was actually 3-5 days and “it isn’t clear if the weekends count.” It is currently day 5 and I am still ill, and I still have no answers. After I left I decided I would probably never come back to this location.

to be clear the ladies at the front desk have always been wonderful and helpful! but go to any other urgent care if you come here with anything even potentially serious. came here with tonsil stones so big i could barely breathe or swallow, it was completely empty, once checked in the medical staff went from all staring up watching the waiting room tv to checking me as quick as possible as if i was a complete waste of their time. i had been drinking a slushie and when the doctor came in she pointed a light in my mouth for about three seconds before getting frustrated and telling me with the red food coloring she just wouldn’t be able to tell. gave me liquid lidocaine for throat pain with no diagnosis. went in somewhere else days later and the doctor said i had “the worst mono throat i have ever seen” and had to prescribe me antivirals and pain medication bc my pain was so intense.
cost me so much extra money to be seen by someone who wa seemingly furious at having to stop watching their little episode of judge judy.
i would have thought it was one doctor but it happened AGAIN!! i went in this week saying i thought i might have an infection or abscess and i can’t see a dentist until a few days later. the doctor spent literally 4 minutes total with us, i counted. he BARELY EVEN LOOKED!!
he told me to open my mouth, pointed a light in for seriously less than THIRTY SECONDS, and said yeah no i don’t see any swelling. even though my face is blown up like a ballon
i asked him to look again and he refused. i kept telling him half the roof of my mouth was painful and hugely swollen coming from one tooth. he was so irritated and quick to talk to me it was absolutely infuriating and disrespectful. $75 dollars to pay $40 for medication with no diagnosis.
turns out i have a massive abscess in my tooth that has spread to my hard palette through my jaw and could have spread to my brain and bloodstream and made me go septic, which can kill you rapidly. thankfully they actually prescribed me antibiotics but if i didn’t have a dentists appointment i likely would have died from sepsis.
absolutely useless medical staff, friendly and kind front desk staff. go anywhere else. these incidents were like a year apart too. i can’t imagine people dealing w way more serious issues who have been outright ignored and brushed along by the rude, arrogant and idiotic medical staff. the nurses are mostly kind and attentive but good god it’s a waste of money, time, and potentially your life.

The front desk person (sorry I didn’t catch her name) was great - quick to start the process, thorough getting the proper information, professional in assisting getting help/equipment quickly. The nurse and nurse practitioner were fantastic too! Welcoming, took the time to listen, made me feel unhurried and heard.
The labs were completely at that same time and a prescription was sent to my pharmacy of choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to visit there again!

1/5 Stars. Do not put yourself or your loved ones through what I experienced here.
I brought my partner to UMMS Urgent Care for a semi-medical emergency and was met with some of the most unprofessional, hostile treatment I’ve ever experienced in a healthcare setting.
My partner suffers from severe medical anxiety and needed me there with her, yet the triage nurse flatly refused to let me stay in the room to support her. On top of that, the nurse treated me with immediate disrespect and clear racial undertones.
When I stepped away to call my partner so we could leave, the nurse actually tried to pit us against each other. She lied directly to my partner, claiming I had "cursed her out." In reality, I was standing 10 feet away with my back turned, privately venting to my partner on the phone about how we were being treated. Falsifying stories to manipulate a patient and her support person is completely unhinged behavior for a healthcare worker.
I filed a formal complaint with facility management, but have received zero response or accountability.
Urgent care demands empathy, integrity, and basic human respect. None of that exists here. I will go anywhere else before UMMS ever gets another cent from me.
