DO NOT COME HERE this is the worst hospital we have ever been too!
1.The nurse giving my husband a finger stick to check his sugar levels PRICKED HER OWN FINGER and said oops and then continued to stick my husband.
2. My husband needed a tube to go in his nose to his stomach, the nurse was very rough with him, yanking on the tube while its already inside him.
3. The nurse NEVER connected the tubes to any machine! For 3 hours we sat there with all the needles and tubes in the world poking out of him and was never connected to anything.
4. They pushed his MRI back several times, saying he could not eat until the MRI was done, today is Wednesday HE HAS NOT EATEN SINCE SUNDAY DINNER!!
I could go on and on, but honestly just go anywhere else. This place does not care about you and doesn't know how to take care of you.
GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!

The doctors and nurses were solid — real professional, caring, and on point. They took care of me and treated me with respect the whole time.
But the front desk and check-in staff? Whole different story. They were unprofessional as hell and acted like they had no clue what they were doing. Seemed like the only thing they cared about was getting paid. I came in in straight agony, and nobody at the desk seemed to give a damn that I was dealing with what felt like an emergency. The medical staff deserve five stars, but the people running check-in seriously need to get it together

Current active duty service member. The place was a mess and seemed kinda thrown together. I had to wait a VERY long time for anyone to talk to me. While waiting in the lobby, a giant cockroach crawled under a bunch of the chairs. I couldn't walk because my legs were locking up and in pain from nerve damage. It was so bad, I had to ask my coworker to drive me and ny wife to the ER. The doctors seemed very skeptical of my symptoms. They only did a CT scan, and said nothing was wrong. I received ZERO help or any information about what to do for my pain and ability to walk. I had to go to Walter Reed the next day for any pain relief and an explanation on what was wrong. I'm never going back to University of Maryland and recommending others to stay away. It was the biggest waste of my time. I am positive that literally ANYTHING else I could've done to help with my symptoms would've been more productive and contributed to my recovery better than this ER visit.

The doctors, nurses, annd staff are wonderful; however, the ER is overcrowded (with unhoused people) and smells like urine. It’s gross. Good luck getting a bed if you are admitted. People sit and sleep in recliner chairs in hallways for hours because no beds are available. Avoid this hospital if you can.
