I have lymphedema, and it's difficult to get appointments at hospital-based clinics -- and when you do, it's usually only around 30-45 minutes of treatment. So when I noticed "CLT" (Certified Lymphedema Therapist) on Dr. DeBorja's practice's window while walking down 36th Street, I was so excited! I've had three or four hour-long appointments with her already and have been so pleased with her care. Dr. DeBorja is knowledgeable, collaborative, and most of all very compassionate. I enjoy our visits -- and my lymphatics do, too! :)

I had been struggling with significant weakness in my hand for years due to idiopathic neuropathy, especially with fine motor tasks. After working with Dr. Angie using StimPod therapy, I noticed real, tangible improvements. I was able to use tools like a nail clipper and a can opener much more easily—things that had become very difficult for me without using my own ways of coping. One of the most meaningful changes was that, when I had a fever in the past, I completely lost the use of my hand. It was terrifying, and I dreaded getting sick again. This year, during my StimPod treatments, I came down with another fever, but did not lose nearly the same strength or mobility, which was a huge difference. I also hadn’t been able to cross my fingers in years due to weakness, and after these sessions, I was finally able to do it again! That was amazing (!) and really showed that something was improving. Dr. Angie is warm, kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She made me feel comfortable and supported throughout the entire process. I’m so grateful to know that it is possible that I can make progress! I would highly recommend her to anyone dealing with neuropathy.

I’m a 75 year old woman and have been really uncomfortable most of my adult life. Stiff neck, killer low back pain, right hip arthritis. All of this discomfort became too much. I heard about Angie and her progressive techniques. I’ve seen her seven times and am so grateful to her that I can laugh and cry. I am feeling so much more comfortable. Angie is so skillful and compassionate. I can very sincerely recommend Angie. I’m very grateful to her.

Dr. deBorja is an exceptional physical therapist and an absolute gem in her field. From the very beginning, she was incredibly thorough, thoughtful, and attentive, combining strong traditional PT training with advanced techniques like myofascial release. When I came to her, my mobility was severely limited and I was in significant pain and discomfort. Through her skill, patience, and dedication, she helped me regain meaningful movement and reprieve and provided real relief during an extremely challenging time — right up until I ultimately needed spinal surgery. Beyond her technical expertise, Dr. De Borja is kind, empathetic, and truly listens. She treats the whole person, not just the condition, and you can feel how much she genuinely cares about her patients’ progress and well-being. She is extraordinarily talented, compassionate, and professional. I am deeply grateful for the care she provided. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for an outstanding physical therapist.

I’ve been experiencing total body discomfort due to multiple areas of tightness. With only 2 sessions there has been noticeable amounts of relief. There’s still work left to do so I’m already booked for another 3 appointments. FYI she gets booked up fast…

Frequently Asked Questions About deBorja Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release - Baltimore

Do I need a referral from my physician?

No, you do not need a referral from your physician to receive physical therapy evaluation and treatment. Maryland is by law a direct access state. This means that you can go to physical therapy directly without a physician referral for any musculoskeletal condition. As physical therapists, we are musculoskeletal specialists that will save you time and money as result of avoiding costly tests such as MRI's, and not having to endure wait times that will delay your recovery.

Do you accept my insurance?

deBorja Physical Therapy is not in contract with any insurance companies. This enables us to give hands-on, one on one care for a full hour to speed progress and performance. Other clinics may work with you at 2-4 patients per hour with limited time with your physical therapist. The actual reimbursement that the clinic receives for these abbreviated sessions is only about half of what is billed to the insurance. Clinics may accept this rate under their contract with the insurance company. We believe in putting the client's needs first, providing exemplary care, and producing results in the most efficient manner possible. Being out of network with insurance companies enables us to do this.
