  I am so happy I found Emerson Dental in Westford! I had a dental cleaning with Brianna, and she was truly the sweetest. She was very thorough, took the time to make sure I was comfortable, and made the whole experience so easy and pleasant. She also cleaned my 5 year old son’s teeth afterward, and he had such a positive experience! He even told me afterward that he wasn’t scared, which says a lot. It was such a relief to see him feel comfortable and confident at the dentist (Pediatric dentist Jerry Swee). I was also seen by Kirsten Liu, who fixed some old fillings for me. The process was quick and completely painless. Everyone at the practice has been wonderful, and I’m so glad I found them. I even got my husband to switch to this practice too!

  I had a frustrating experience at this dental office, especially for what was supposed to be my initial visit. After I was called in, the dental assistant told me that they needed X-rays from my previous dental office for the appointment. This caught me completely by surprise because I had not been informed beforehand that these records were required for the appointment. I was then asked to call my previous dentist immediately while I was already at the appointment. This made me very anxious because the way it was communicated made it sound like they couldn't proceed without those records. If I had been informed beforehand, I could have taken care of it ahead of time instead of being put on the spot during my appointment. I was later told they needed to take X-rays anyway, so the urgency around getting the previous X-rays was confusing. The checkout experience was also disappointing. The dental assistant told the front desk to provide me with a cost estimate for a procedure I may consider, but the front desk staff didn't give it to me. I had to ask about it again before they provided the estimate. Whether it was forgotten or simply overlooked, I don't think patients should have to repeatedly ask for information that was already requested on their behalf. Overall, the communication and transparency were not what I expected from a dental office. For a first visit, this was not a good experience and made me hesitant about returning.

  I have been going to this practice for decades. Dr. Malas is wonderful. He's very gentle and explains what's going on. All the work he's done on me has been excellent, with no problems whatsoever. Ashley, a dental assistant, is always so friendly and puts me at ease. Both are very experienced and knowledgeable. They have a good rapport and make a great team. And have earned my total trust.
