  I went here for the first time with my 5 year old a week ago and had an ok experience. My first impression was that the waiting area was dingy and lacking kid stuff for a pediatric dentist. There's a TV playing cartoons, 1 computer screen around the corner with games, but no toys/books. I then brought my toddler today and after sitting in the dentist chair for 10+ mins wondering what was going on, the front desk person came in and said my son didn't have insurance. I was confused as I handed over a card at check-in and had no issue with my daughter the week prior (we're all on the same insurance with the same subscriber number), so that didn't make any sense to me. The interaction was confrontational and unhelpful, all while sitting in the dentist chair with my toddler on my lap. When I asked what I'm supposed to do, since it appeared by the tone and body language of the woman talking to me that I was being kicked out, it was suggested that I call the insurance company and sort it out, which obviously wasn't going to be possible in that moment. The other option given was to pay out of pocket and sort it out later. If I hadn't already seen the food particles from a prior patient all over the glasses, and if I wasn't confronted while in the dentist chair, I probably would've figured something out. I did end up calling the insurance company when I got home and they verified all 3 of my kids are accurately listed on my plan with the correct DOB's. It appears that there was no attempt to call the insurance company by the front desk since this call took less than 2 mins. I also find it interesting that there were 3 instances of confirming the appointment, but no attempts to confirm the insurance prior. I've cancelled all appointments, and this place has lost all 3 of my kids as patients.

  I love Smileland for my daughter!!! The staff is always amazing. We had an emergency today and they got us right in. I can not thank the staff enough.

  My experience with this dental clinic was extremely disappointing. During my daughter’s first visit, I was told she would only need one silver crown. To my surprise, they ended up removing several of her teeth and placing multiple silver crowns due to what they said were cavities. This was never clearly explained to me beforehand, and I left the appointment feeling shocked and very concerned. At her follow-up appointment, the experience was even worse. I arrived just one minute past the grace period, and the dentist had already left. What was most upsetting was that no one called to ask if I was on my way or to let me know the dentist was leaving. I sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes before the receptionist finally told me that the dentist had already gone home. This level of communication and patient care is completely unacceptable. I felt that my daughter’s care and our time meant nothing to this clinic. I would not recommend this office to anyone looking for transparency, respect, and compassionate care.
