I recently visited Pearl Vision in Newton. One of my prescriptions (reading script) was difficult. They worked with me and were very detailed oriented and pleasant to work with - A+ customer service from Eric, though all are very pleasant and helpful. Dr. Patel was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend them!

Went to Pearl Vision for my annual eye exam. I was 10 minutes early and they took me right away no waiting! Dr. S. was so nice and explained all the tests he was doing and some new information I was never told. I was asked if I had any questions and was done. I actually picked out two pairs of glasses which I had never done before but always wanted to!!! Now I have one for work and one for my pocketbook. Really had a great range of frames to pick from. A very nice efficient office. Highly recommend them.

To be clear, this review is not about the two optometrists, as I never had the opportunity to see them. On August 24, I scheduled appointments for my daughter at 10:20 AM and myself at 10:40 AM for August 27. After learning that my daughter was not covered under my new insurance, I called on August 26 at 12:07 PM to cancel her appointment and confirmed that I would keep mine at 10:40 AM. When I arrived on August 27, I was a few minutes late, well below 10 minutes. However, based onbthe reception communication, the office still had my daughter's 10:20 appointment on the schedule. While the receptionist was trying to sort this out with the doctor, several minutes passed. He had to go back and fourth twice, and served another client while I was there. I was then told that because it was 10:51, and my appointmentwas for 10:40 appointment the Dr will not be seeing me! I understand being held accountable for arriving late. What I don't think is fair is counting the time I spent waiting while the office was resolving the appointment issue as part of my lateness. I even brought this to the receptionist attention, but it appeared he didn't want to acknowledge that I was jot late 11 minutes. I am not in a habit of arguing for seconds and minutes! If the policy is truly zero tolerance, patients should be clearly informed when making the appointment and/or in the appointment reminders. There was no consideration for the circumstances, especially since I had called the day before to cancel one appointment and confirm the other. If they failed to their job, I should not be accountable for it. I walked out wondering if the Dr knew what exactly took place! Dr. Seigel: Patients' time matters too. Just like your time. I hope the practice will reconsider how this policy is communicated and applied.

I had a great experience getting new glasses at Pearle in Newton. Dr. Patel did an excellent exam and provided an accurate prescription. Eric helped me with the new glasses, first I got three single vision pairs to get used to the new prescription, then he got me the new progressive glasses which I have adjusted to quickly and are providing excellent vision. Both Dr. Patel and Eric helped find the best options with my vision insurance benefits and I received good prices for both the exam and optical work.
