  I’ve had an overall disappointing experience with Smileland in Malden, particularly with Rosemary in the orthodontic department. Unfortunately, her behavior has come across as rude, unprofessional, and lacking the level of patience and communication I would expect from someone working with children. The way she speaks to children can be uncomfortable and does not create a welcoming or positive environment. Working in pediatrics requires patience, kindness, and the ability to communicate with children appropriately, and I feel that this is an area where Rosemary could significantly improve. It’s unfortunate because interactions like these can reflect poorly on the entire practice and give Smileland a bad reputation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the way patients and children are treated in the orthodontic department.

  I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. I had an appointment scheduled for my 20-month-old daughter at 4:00 PM today. I even spoke with the office TODAY and personally confirmed the appointment over the phone. I then drove 40 MINUTES with a 20-month-old to get there. I walked through their door at 4:02 PM. TWO. MINUTES. LATE. And I was told the doctor had ALREADY LEFT. Let that sink in: a doctor who supposedly had my daughter scheduled for a 4:00 PM appointment was already gone by 4:02 PM. How exactly was this appointment ever supposed to happen? Was the doctor planning to leave the second the clock hit 4:00? I understand late policies. If I had shown up 15 or 20 minutes late, I would take responsibility and understand having to reschedule. But turning away a mother who drove 40 minutes with a toddler because she walked in TWO minutes after the scheduled time is absolutely ridiculous. What makes it even worse is that I had confirmed the appointment with them over the phone earlier that same day. They knew we were coming. There was absolutely no consideration for the time, effort, and inconvenience involved in getting a 20-month-old ready, into the car, driving 40 minutes, and getting to an appointment. Yet apparently two minutes of THEIR time was too much to ask. I have dealt with many doctors’ and dentists’ offices and have never experienced something this unreasonable. I absolutely DO NOT recommend Smileland. Save yourself the drive, the frustration, and the complete waste of your time and find another pediatric dental office that actually respects its patients and their families.

  We’ve been coming to Smileland since my little one had her first tooth. We always have wonderful experience here. Highly recommend!
