I recently stopped in lens crafters to get a repair on Versace glasses I had (broken) for quite some time. After stopping by multiple other stores like SunglassHut and Versace I came to the Newbury location and was greeted by Tania. Without hesitation she was able to help me restore my glasses and make em look new. I was so thankful!!!

I walked into LensCrafters fully prepared for the consequences of my own actions after sitting on my glasses. Instead, they fixed them in under 5 minutes and wouldn’t even let me pay. Super kind staff, quick service, and honestly just a really pleasant experience. Humans being competent and nice in the same interaction. Rare species these days. Thank you, Stephen!

Very disappointing customer service. I ordered glasses on March 14, 2026, clearly requesting ultra-thin lenses due to my prescription. When I picked them up on April 5, the lenses were not thinned, and the salesperson tried to convince me otherwise. After returning them, the remake took another two weeks - only to arrive missing the anti-blue light coating I was charged for. At these prices, this level of carelessness is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place - better to go to a local optician.

Awful. I have been going here for years. My entire family goes here. They’ve changed locations on Newbury St and apparently have zero heating or cooling in the new spot. Every time I go, it is unbearably hot. Not just a little uncomfortable. Life altering hot. I almost vomited while having my eyes examined. Zero air flow in the little rooms, never mind the selling floor. Totally unpleasant experience. I do not know how it is legal for the employees to have to work in these conditions. We will not be returning to this Lens Crafters. If the building owner isn’t fixing your AC, it’s the business that should be responsible for cooling their offices. I have always loved my optometrist there, but obviously there are plenty of them elsewhere. I can get my RayBans anywhere. Just yuck.

Frequently Asked Questions About LensCrafters

How do I know if my child needs glasses?

Taking your child to an optometrist for an eye exam is the best way to learn if your child needs glasses. Many children who need glasses aren’t aware that they do. Signs of vision problems in children include sitting too close to the television, squinting, sensitivity to light, difficulty with eye-hand coordination, and avoiding visual activities like reading and drawing. To see if your child needs glasses, schedule your child’s eye exam today.

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?

A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
