Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is one of several advanced wound care services provided at Lane Wound Center to help improve quality of life and wound healing results.
HBOT is a medical treatment in which a patient breathes 100% oxygen while relaxing comfortably in a pressurized, total body chambe made of clear acrylic. This allows the patient to see out and watch TV, listen to music, or just rest during treatment.
HBOT treatments are administered on a daily basis for an average of 6-8 weeks. A single treatment lasts about two hours.
This delivery of oxygen creates a natural healing process to repair damaged tissue and is helpful for slow healing or diabetic wounds, radiation therapy damage, skin grafts, and bone/skin infections.
