Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.
This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.
This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.
This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.
There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.
These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.
This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.
These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.
Physical & Wellness Screenings
Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.
When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.
Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I left a doctors appointment and drove straight to the pharmacy—arriving 10 minutes before they were supposed to break for lunch (45min drive). I was informed they’d have it done fairly quickly; however, they had already closed down and told me to come back in 30 minutes. I waited and came back when they reopened. The staff wasn’t friendly and at this point my prescription had been called in for over 1.5 hours. I was told I needed to wait another 30 minutes, so I waited. It took them more than 2 hours to fill the prescription. They got the job done, but the service is extremely slow and the staff is unpleasant. There’s plenty of other pharmacies in Shreveport that have much better services than this one.

Lauren Jones is the WORST pharmacist EVER I go in after I get a text saying my medication is ready drive almost 1 hour away and get to the Kroger on Youree 2 medication are supposed to be ready but Lauren Jones decides when she feels ready to fill she will She tells you your early insurance won't pay but they do she is a very bitter and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL PERSON that should not be in customer service so ANYONE reading this boycott Lauren Jones hopefully Kroger reads their reviews because they are going to loose businesses i will be filing a report against her and her unprofessionalizm

I want to say the Pharmacist named Ben is the best Krogers have had in a long time. He treats his customers like they were treated in the old days. Even when he's extremely busy, if you have a question about your medication and ask to speak to him, he greets you with a caring smile and makes sure you leave feeling comfortable by the way he explains it to you. He makes you feel like he truly cares about you personally. This kroger location has had a big turnover of staff in the past year. I pray the realize they are blessed to have a pharmacist like Ben working for them and keep him.
