Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

Let me start off here by saying I am a nurse, and these pharmacy techs need to learn to triage! Especially during this time with the pandemic! Get the truly sick taken care of first! I had a temp of 103, was coughing , wheezing, and in the middle of a bronchospasm. My true issue was I was exposing innocent people to my germs, by being in the store! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a pharmacy! Only went to Kroger because I had been seen at Urgent Care, my regular pharmacy was closed. My regular pharmacy only needs 4 ppl to run efficiently. When I pulled up to the drive thru there was a note that because of lack of staff the drive thru was closed. I called the pharmacy twice to see if they had gotten my prescriptions, but no one answered the phone! So I walked into the store and across to the pharmacy coughing and wheezing and barely able to walk because I could not breathe due to my bronchospasm! There were so many ppl in the pharmacy line they were to the checkout. When I realized it was going to be a long wait, I simply walked to the register to see if they had gotten my prescription that had been faxed an hour earlier. There were FIVE ppl working, that is far from understaffed! I dealt with an extremely rude woman who thought very highly of herself, and hid her name badge! When I asked if they had gotten my script I was accused of jumping line! All I needed was to make sure that my scripts had been received. But she would not even look! I walked back thru the store and went to my car wheezing and coughing. I did not want to spread germs to all those people in the grocery, I am a nurse. I promptly called the physician and had them send my prescriptions to CVS. I would not recommend Kroger Pharmacy for anything, they ARE NOT UNDERSTAFFED they are rude and lazy! When I am well, the pharmacy and Kroger management are gonna get told exactly what happened!

The worst pharmacy ever. Wait time is too long. They need 2 ppl checking out customers. I've waited as much as an hour. One employee in particular is rude and hateful.
