Vaccinations

Routine vaccinations are one of the easiest ways to keep yourself healthy. Our pharmacies provide annual flu vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations, routine child and adult immunizations, catch-up vaccines and travel vaccines.

This vaccine protects against chickenpox, a disease caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults born in 1980 or later need two doses.

This vaccine protects against coronavirus. Depending on the manufacturer, up to two doses and a booster are currently recommended.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis A, an infection in the liver often spread by contaminated food and caused by hepatitis A virus. Adults traveling outside the country, those with chronic liver disease, and men who have sex with men need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against Hepatitis B, a blood-borne infection of the liver caused by hepatitis B virus. Adults with chronic health conditions and healthcare workers should get three doses of this vaccine.

This vaccine protects against HPV, the major cause of cervical cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts in both women and men. Adults age 9-26 need at least two doses.

This vaccine protects against influenza, a contagious viral infection of the nose, throat, and lungs. Everyone 6 months and older should receive a yearly flu vaccine.

This vaccine protects against the respiratory disease measles, the infectious disease mumps, and the viral disease rubella. Adults born in 1957 or later need at least one dose.

There are two types of meningococcal vaccines that protect against meningococcal disease, a leading cause of bacterial meningitis infections around the brain and spinal cord. All 11-12 year olds should get a meningococcal conjugate vaccine and a booster dose at 16 years old. People age 16-23 years also may get a serogroup B meningococcal vaccine.

These vaccines protect against pneumococcal disease, caused by bacteria leading to ear and sinus infections as well as more serious lung and blood infections. If you smoke, have heart disease, asthma, chronic lung disease, or are over 65 years old, you need at least one dose.

This vaccine protects against polio, a disease that can infect a person’s spinal cord and cause paralysis. Children are recommended to get one vaccine dose at 2 months old, 4 months old, 6 through 18 months old, and 4 through 6 years old.

This vaccine protects against shingles, a painful skin rash caused by the varicella zoster virus. Adults age 50 and older need two doses.

These vaccines protect against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis which are contagious bacterial diseases. Adults need one dose of Tdap, then a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years.

Physical & Wellness Screenings

Our pharmacies offer a number of wellness screenings to help detect and prevent certain diseases.

When you come in for a biometric screening, your provider will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. They will also test your blood glucose, and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL) using a finger prick to obtain a blood sample. Before leaving you will have your results along with risk reduction counseling to help you achieve your optimum health. **Biometric Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Blood glucose measurement detects the amount of glucose (sugar) in the bloodstream. High or low blood sugars could indicate a metabolic condition, such as diabetes.

Hemoglobin A1C measures your average blood glucose (sugar) over the past 90 days. An elevated hemoglobin A1C could indicate the presence of diabetes. **Hemoglobin A1C Screenings are available at select pharmacies only.

Cholesterol screening measures the amount of cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol screenings can detect conditions such as high cholesterol or high triglycerides.

I am often frustrated with this pharmacy. Most Kroger pharmacies I don't have a problem with but this one is hit or miss. Medicine's I have been on for years and often they can't find it or say I will have to pay for it and when I say I have never had to in the past they look again and say oh there it is you don't owe anything. They often say that what I am refilling is out of stock and needs to be ordered which is surprising because it's usually just common diabetic supplies and one time I received a notification that they had received my prescription but it was not ready yet. And this is where it gets funny 😂 I had a smaller dose of the same medicine so I doubled up on it while I waited for the new one. Two weeks later I went to check out what was going on and I was told that it was filled at a place I have never got medication from before plus the prescribing doctor was no way associated with that hospital. So I was told to call that hospital and have it transferred. So I just called back to Kroger a few days later and I talked to a different person who pulled up the prescription and filled it no problem 😁 I just acted like my conversation with the other person never happened. Just confused on what is really going on at this location.

If you need your meds anytime soon DON'T TAKE THEM HERE! They close at 7pm and on Saturday when people are off work they close at 3pm.....why would you do that. They're very slow,no one answers the phone and when you ask questions they act like its the end of the world. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Absolutely Terrible and unprofessional, unprofessional service I have EVER experienced. See I have mental health problems, that I want and need to take care of unfortunately I HAVE to resort to medication. All fine and dandy right? Well not too them! These medications will make you “withdrawal” so to speak. Not a “drug head” by the way… That was what Kroger Pharmacy in Valley station said & made me feel. I have fought with them for MONTHS, on these concerns. Nothing has been done. I called the pharmacist board to report, I’ve called Kroger cooperation, as well as many other place’s to get this fixed. Nothing has been resolved. I’m beyond frustrated! Trying to keep my cool on top of dealing with these incompetent individuals! I’m done. This is not in any way healthy for ANYONE but then you mess with everyone’s medicine as far as I can see. Fix it Kroger do freaking better. You all have fallen off and probably should figure it out before you lose more people than what you have bargained for. -sincerely, A concerned Patient-
