  It really is a shame the way the billing is handled at this company. Dr Sam was very sweet but the way they bill their patients is downright ridiculous. I asked for my treatment plan for an upcoming surgery due to an impacted wisdom tooth. This was verified and diagnosed by UK ER after a CAT scan due to face swelling. When they gave me my treatment plan today, it was $1000 more than originally quoted. I called and asked about it and they acted like they had no clue why it came out like that. I brushed it off. I did end up finding my original quote and questioned how my insurance would not cover anesthesia for wisdom teeth extractions especially when I needed 2 additional teeth pulled. 6 in total. I called my insurance company and they went through all the codes with me and quoted me at $624. They said because I have an impacted wisdom tooth they covered anesthesia at 80%. She also told me even if my wisdom tooth wasn’t impacted, they cover anesthesia at 80% for 5 or more teeth extractions. Again, I need 6 pulled. My insurance said a preauthorization was never put in for me and that they would be able to pre-approve the 80% if they coded it correctly and that it would only take 24 hours for that approval. I called the office back and was argued with about my impacted tooth. Was told it wasn’t impacted due to a scan they took in Jan of 2025. I sent a picture of my UK chart where it clearly states the right, upper wisdom tooth is impacted and abscessed. She still argued. I then explained that even without the impacted tooth (since she wanted to argue the ER’s diagnoses that was just done in July), my insurance still covers 5 or more teeth extractions. She then tells me she was NOT putting in a pre-authorization and that the insurance doesn’t always pay based on the pre-approval. She told me I have to pay the full amount of $1870 or I could go somewhere else. She said they would reimburse me after they got paid, which could take up to 30 days. I asked why they wouldn’t just get the pre-approval and she said it was their policy to collect everything in full. I asked her why she didn’t discuss the possibility of my insurance covering 80% during our original sit down to discuss the estimate. Was she just going to pocket the money? She answered again, I can give you a referral for somewhere else. I called a different surgeon, in tears, and she stated that was absolutely incorrect. My insurance covers and PAYS out for both of those scenarios and they only make patients pay what is pre-approved. That is why you do the pre-approval. I cancelled my surgery cause I do feel scammed. What would have happened had I never known what my insurance covered and just took her word of “anyone over 18 doesn’t get $1500 worth of anesthesia covered”? Why do I have to pay $1200 OVER what my own insurance estimated for me? I am in extreme pain and now have to start over with a different surgeon but at least I feel like a patient with a very painful condition and a surgeon willing to do whatever they need to do to help his patient. Unlike this company that tried to take $1000’s from me and MAYBE give it back, if they coded it correctly. As someone that works with contracts all day, ALWAYS double check with your insurance and get it in writing. When I told her I was reading my policy in black and white, she hung up on me. That was all I needed to cancel and never go back to this office.

  This is my initial review. My first impression is simply amazing. I've only had 2 visits so far, so that could change. I will have several more visits in the coming months. Im receiving upper arch and lower arch implants. I will update my review after my next appointment in a few months.

  This place never let me down… Since the first time I went there the staff and Dr. Sam have been great I can honestly say he takes care of me. I would definitely recommend this place, very nice environment, clean, staff that is pleasant, wouldn’t go anywhere else

  I went in for a consultation at GSD and a couple other places as well. I've decided to use GSD. They were very easy to talk to and the pricing was fair.
